In the desert scene, where Beavis and Butt-Head hallucinate, voices are heard in the background. When the soundtrack is played backwards, Beavis and Butt-Head are heard speaking clearly, including phrases such as "Everybody go to college, study hard, study hard."
Broke the box-office record for an opening weekend in December, until Scream 2 (1997) was released the following year.
In the DVD commentary, Mike Judge confesses that the guitar riff from Beavis and Butt-Head theme music is the riff from AC/DC's Gone Shootin' played backwards. The song itself is played (in its original, non-reversed version) during the film when there is the montage of Beavis and Butt-Head visiting the Grand Canyon.
There's a line in the script that indicates that if President Bill Clinton lost his re-election campaign in 1996, there would be a change to the scene where Butt-Head meets Chelsea Clinton. In the final print of the movie, she is simply folding clothes. Had President Clinton lost re-election, a suitcase would have been animated into the scene, which would have only been a minor addition.
Robert Stack was so embarrassed to be associated with the film that he paid a legal team to keep his name out of the promotional material. He eventually did warm to the role.
David Letterman: As the voice of "Motley Crue Roadie #1", who is presumably Butt-Head's estranged father. Letterman is credited in the film as "Earl Hofert", which is an alias Letterman chose himself. On Late Night with David Letterman (1982) and Late Show with David Letterman (1993), Letterman routinely mocked his "Uncle Earl", especially when this same uncle got drunk on Thanksgiving and supposedly said "Here, kitty kitty kitty" to the turkey.
Lisa Collins: As the voice of Marcy Anderson, Tom Anderson's elderly wife. On Beavis et Butt-Head (1993), a different Lisa Collins voiced this same character. This role was Collins' first voice acting role ever, and she would go on to provide her voice on Daria (1997), the spin-off to "Beavis & Butt-Head", as cheerleader Brittany Taylor, fashion club president Sandi Griffin, and goth girl Andrea.
