Arlette. French Cinderella. A funny and interesting comedy that, unfortunately, is not familiar to many. Christopher Lambert played his role excellently and the film received an extra credit for that.

It´s a wonderful amusing comedy. The plot is neat. And Christopher Lambert and Josiane Balasko form a perfect team in this comedy. Frank(Christopher Lambert and waitress Arlette (Josiane Balasko) discover that love is more valuable than anything else.

Arlette is a charming French romantic but slightly cringt comedy that follows the story of a humble waitress, Arlette (Josiane Balasko), whose life is turned upside down when a wealthy playboy, Frank (Christopher Lambert), enters her life. Frank attempts to seduce Arlette as part of a scheme to inherit his father's fortune, but as they spend time together, genuine feelings begin to emerge.

Josiane Balasko delivers a amusingly delightful performance as the naive yet spirited Arlette, while Christopher Lambert brings charisma and depth to his role as the initially deceptive Frank. The chemistry between the leads is engaging and forms the heart of the film. Zidi's direction ensures a light-hearted, entertaining narrative, complemented by picturesque settings and a humorous script. Sure, the movie is filled with cringy jokes and awkward moments, but that's exactly the point. If you're into this particular type of comedy, then you'll definitely enjoy this film!
