Avis à la une
I watched this show with great anticipation, and was disappointed every week. I certainly expected better from such a good cast and premise. The dialog was cheesy, and the situations and stories were nothing like a medieval family would have ever found themselves in. I always got the impression that someone had just written a regular modern nighttime soap opera a la Dynasty and just dressed it up in 12th-century clothes. It was like one of those bad historical romance novels, where the author hasn't done any research, come to life. The production values were good, with beautiful costumes and sets. They must have had a pretty big budget.
I wasn't lucky enough to have watched this show during it's first run, but I was lucky enough to have been given the entire series from someone, even the ones unaired in the US-
I watched all of them in a single day. I couldn't stop- the characters are great, the story lines are fun, they didn't take themselves too seriously, it's loads of fun- but then they did have serious moments as well. I've heard complants about that, but you know- I felt it worked.
They had some plot points dangling, which people also hadn't liked at the time, but it was apparent to me that they were planning on some great plot lines that was meant for the second season that never came.
It was a short lived show that deserved much more than it got.

this was such a good series when it was on but the next thing i knew it was off the air. it was several years back when this was on tv so it is hard to remember faces and names so if any one can please tell me whether cedric grey (played by beautiful glenn quinn- "angel"s doyle on the wb) was the youngest son or one of the two elder sons. this was a wonderful show and i hope it's few airings will be placed on video so i can continue to see them. they always take away the good ones.

Does anyone know where I can get this series on DVD? I had taped the this show on VHS years ago, and I was so disappointed when it went off the air. It was such a great funny show. Its nice to know other people remember it and appreciate it. I kind of thought I was the only one to remember this show, at least I know there is at least 8 of us out there. Its strange when really great shows like this go completely unnoticed and can get axed so quick. I really hope I can find someone to buy this show from.
Its kind of like Young Indiana Jones Chronicles that was so good but completely unappreciated by the masses. I really question the taste of Nielsen family homes.

This is an entertaining series that relates the adventures and loves of the children of an English Lord during the Middle-Ages. This series is funny and quite interesting, though the medieval society it shows has more in common with Disneyland than with history.

- AnecdotesAccording to Executive Producer Gil Grant, the series was intended to be set about 1350, during the middle of Edward the Third's reign. Since the series wasn't intended to be completely accurate, and the Production Designer was concerned with criticism over anachronisms creeping into the set design, the producers opted to use a generic medieval time period instead.
