Avis à la une
This is a very good movie to take a chance on. For the most part, it's done well on a low budget. It has much nudity and sometimes is tasteless in it's humor. Amy Yip and Chikako Aoyama are very good. The copy I saw didn't have subtitles, but if you understand a little Cantonese, there's enough English to understand what's going on. Robots, killers, sex, gore. You can't ask much more from a movie!!! Overall, 8 out of 10.
I finally sat myself down to see 'Robotrix' in its entirety. Having previously skipped a few chapters already to see what it looked like, I knew what I was in for. And the time was ripe now, since I felt in the mood for it. 'Robotrix' is a pretty damn hilarious kungfu-cyborg cheese-fest with lots of nudity, rapes (robots apparently do love to rape, and the female victims don't even seem to mind it that much), over the top violence & bloodshed and incredible idiotic attempts at humor. All this in a plot that doesn't seem to make the slightest bit of sense and is unaware of the fact that a conclusion of some sort always helps to wrap things up. Pretty insane flick, crappy special effects included. I liked it. But let me remind you that it's a bad movie: 3/10... Oh wait,... I just checked its page on here. It's supposed to be a comedy??? That changes things: 7/10! Haha.
"Linda" (Chikako Aoyama) is a female police officer who has been assigned to guard the son of an extremely wealthy oil sheik. Lamentably, her mission becomes a complete failure as he is consequently kidnapped and Linda (aka "Selena") is critically wounded trying to protect him. Meanwhile, at a lavish convention sponsored by the oil sheik with the goal of awarding a large contract to the best robot manufacturer, an evil Japanese robotics genius by the name of "Ryuichi Sakamoto" (Chung Lin) televises a video declaring that he has kidnapped the sheik's son and demands the sheik's complete cooperation. He then demonstrates his genius by killing himself while simultaneously transferring his mind into the computerized brain of a nearby robot. Not only does this give him incredible power and intelligence but the robot also has a remarkable human appearance as well. Not to be outdone, another scientist at the convention named "Dr. Sara" (Siu-dan Hui) also has a powerful robot with human appearances by the name of "Anna" (Amy Yip) and vows to help the sheik defeat Ryuichi Sakamoto. Although she realizes that Sakamoto's robot has the edge due to his superior human intelligence, she also devises a plan to essentially compensate for it. To do this she will need a human brain of her own and Linda is the perfect candidate. Now rather than reveal any more I will just say that I was surprised at the amount of action, nudity, sex and martial arts this film contained. Unfortunately, the script and the special effects were considerably bad and this really affected the overall entertainment value. Even so, there was some good humor here and there along with several sexy actresses featured including the aforementioned Chikako Aoyama, Siu-dan Hui and Amy Yip which certainly didn't hurt this film in any way. In any case, regardless of the cheap effects, I rate this movie as about average.
If you gave a room full of college-aged males a small budget and a film-camera, this movie is likely what they'd come up with. It has everything the hormone-addled male brain would ever need - naked female kung-fu robots.
The amount of gratuitous (ie. not integral to the story) T and A in this movie is simply spectacular, not that there's anything wrong with that. And the fact that the A's and T's being exposed just happen to belong to two of the most popular Hong Kong Category III actresses just adds to the attraction.
If Mystery Science Theatre 3000 were on HBO, this would be the movie they'd pick for the premiere episode.
Highly reccomended, provided of course the wife, kids and neighbors are safely out of the room.

Or as others have said: Robocop mixed with Andy Sidaris. And while it has been a while since I last saw a Sidaris movie, if you have seen at least one of them you can guess where this is going. Now apart from nudity (mostly female, though there is one full frontal shot of a male one) and the Science Fiction part, there is the action part. And as over the top as the nudity and the story itself is, the action tries to top that too.
No holds barred - there is a lot of violence. Almost comical at times (and referencing the Flying Guillotine from the Shaw Brothers and other crazy movies) - but it does work. Really good to say the least. There is also Martial Arts - the movie is mostly fun and games then (with violent deaths and sex added for good measure).
Unfortunately at times it does get darker - and it may have cost it a bit of a higher rating by me. There are forced sexual encounters - that really were not necessary in my view, but I reckon they wanted to up the ante. Shame for being so dark and not being able to walk the fine line from start to finish - no pun intended.

- AnecdotesThe film is notable for a scene of brief male full-frontal nudity (Billy Chow), as it is perhaps the first time in Hong Kong cinema that a Chinese adult male's genitalia have been fully exposed on camera in a film for general release.
