Hulk Hogan stated in an interview that he did not get to keep the Thunder Scarab boat used on screen, but he had one built. Hogan said he made the decision when he was heavily medicated following a surgery.

Producer Douglas Schwartz said in an interview that Hulk Hogan would often spend his Friday nights at Hooters restaurant, after that week's episode had concluded filming. Thunder in Paradise was one of the first acting gigs of Heidi Mark, who started out as a Hooters girl, prior to her acting career. Schwartz himself owned a Hooters restaurant, along with his wife.
The Scaraab boat used in the TV series, 'Razzle Dazzle' was purchased and used by Richard Hammond in The Grand Tour special, 'Seaman'. This episode aired on Amazon Prime December 13, 2019. The boats name was changed to 'Jizzle Drizzle' as a joke by Jeremy Clarkson.
Hulk Hogan parted ways with the World Wrestling Federation in order to film this series. Hulk got his job with World Championship Wrestling as a result of filming Thunder in Paradise in the studio next to WCW's, at Disney World. According to Ric Flair, WCW President Eric Bischoff asked Flair to organize a meeting with Hogan. Flair & Bischoff visited Hulk on location in the swamp area of St. Petersburg, where Hogan was filming a scene for Thunder in Paradise, and held the meeting in Hulk's trailer. When Bischoff told Hogan how much money the Turner organization was willing to pay him to work for WCW, Hulk immediately accepted WCW's offer, and decided he had had enough of the grueling filming schedule for Thunder in Paradise.
