Bruce Campbell says that in order to make it appear that the chainsaw was always running, tobacco smoke was pumped through a tube that was slid up his right pant leg, up his shirt, and into the chainsaw.

Versions alternatives
The German "New Remastered Special Limited Edition" - VHS from "Screen Power" made one ending out of both alternative endings. It starts with the ending where Ash sleeps after he takes the drops. Suddenly a text-card appears, which says that Ash has a dream, while he is sleeping over the centuries. Then the ending in the supermarket starts. After it's finished, the "sleep"-ending goes on, where it has stopped. This version also includes 4 scenes from the Director's Cut and runs 104 minutes.

Comedy and horror rolled into one

Okay, maybe it's more comedy than horror, but who cares? Army of Darkness is an awesome movie. Bruce Campbell does an excellent job as Ash, the arrogant and hilarious hero armed with his trusty chainsaw and 'boom stick'. The plot was great and fresh, showing that the people behind the scenes were not trying to do the same thing that made Evil Dead I & II popular. The movie is filled with sword swinging skeletons, kick boxing witches and slap stick. Bruce Campbell has some excellent one liners. To sum it up, Army of Darkness is groovy.

But you can let it end here. Give us another sequel please.
