Avis à la une
Because of the success Makinavaja, el último choriso(1992) , it was versioned in theatre, film and TV with different results. It was featured with enormous success in the satyrical spanish magazine "El Jueves" right until the author's death in 1993 (by a car accident) and generated a cult following that still exists. Followed by : ¨¡¡Semos peligrosos!! (uséase Makinavaja 2)¨ (1993) by Carlos Suárez , it stars Andrés Pajares , Jesús Bonilla , Mario Pardo , Pedro Reyes. Cinematic adaptation from comic strips with plenty of bad-taste, profanity and scatological humor. Maki has just been released from prison and shortly after stepping on the street he goes to find Popeye (Jesús Bonilla), her faithful friend, whom crosses when he is going to rob a bank working as an office worker. The two of them go to rescue Grandpa, locked up in an asylum due to his addiction to gambling.
The first few minutes of the film are particularly noteworthy, as some of Makinavaja's botched exploits are perfectly recreated in cartoon form.
Adaptation of the famous comic strips by cartoonist Ramón Tosa Fuentes, artistically known as Ivá, author of other nice series like 'Historias de la Puta Mili' and 'Sor Angustias de la Crus'. It was featured with enormous success in a satyrical spanish magazine right until the author's death in 1993 by a car accident and generated a cult following that still exists. The humor of the series packs a critical approach to national issues , such as : Francoist period , national politicians, ETA , social habits , and above all, its main characters's (Makinavaja or Maki) philosophy were the keys of its success . Makinavaja is a mixture of a thug, a vigilante and a philosopher, here is interpreted by Andrés Pajares giving an outstanding acting , he was the only one (along with Pepe Rubianes) that really captured the character spirit.
The first part titled: ¨Makinavaja, el último choriso¨ Andrés Pajáres as Makinavaja is well accompanied by a good cast : Jesús Bonilla, Mario Pardo , Pedro Reyes , Carmen Conesa , Joan Potau, Albert Soler , Lazarao Escarceller , Silvia Solar and Mary Santpere as his prostitute mother in one of her last roles, in fact Makinavaja 2 due to her death it was dedicated to herself . .Makinavaja (Andrés Pajares) and Popeye (Jesús Bonilla) are two small-time thieves that survive in the slums of Barcelona. Both of whom commit muggings and develop their curious philosophy of life along with the elderly rogue Matías ( Lazaro Escarceller) and Moromierda (Mario Pardo) .
This Makinavaja supposes a different approach to the Quinqui cinema, which became popular during the 1970s and 80s. Firstly, because of the desire to turn the central character into a philosopher who thinks beyond what happens in the neighborhood. It contains a slang that is slightly funny, some situations so absurd and seedy enough to make us laugh, and ultimately various weird roles good for laughing .
The plot goes on the previous adventures : as soon as he is released from prison, Maki goes to look for his friend Popeye. Together they rescue the grandfather from a dangerous form of "Russian roulette" played in the asylum, and decide to take a vacation at the beach . And TV series : ¨Makinavaja (1995-1997)¨ with Pepe Rubianes , Mario Pardo , Florinda Chico . A faithful adaptation, in fact Rubianes is a perfect Makinavaja...The humor of the series, its critical approach to national themes Francoist corruption , politicians, terrorism, etc.) and above all, its main character's (Makinavaja or Maki) philosophy were the keys of its success. Because of this success Makinavaja was versioned in theatre, film and TV with different results.
'The TV-series was the only one that really captured the character spirit, with an outstanding Pepe Rubianes as Makinavaja, plots faithfully based in the original stories by Ivá and most important, a change of direction during the 2nd season changing the usually bad-taste and scatological humor from the movies by a more satyrical approach..
Both feature films: Makinava I and II are written, produced and directed by Carlos Suárez, in collaboration with the comic book artist Ivá. The cast of the first film is maintained, with the two main actors, Pajares and Bonilla, who are accompanied by Mario Pardo reprising his role from the films proved that he was a perfect Moromierda (just read the comics, this was one of the best roles) , Pedro Reyes, Liazer Escarceller and Benito Pocino (the latter playing a different character from the one in the prequel) and who would later play Mortadelo de Ibañez, among others.
The motion picture was acceptably directed by Carlos Suárez . He was a prestigious cameraman, although he also directed a few films, such as: Los Porretas, El Jardín Secreto and Adiós Tiburón, along with the two Makinavaja films and the television series of the same character. Rating :5/10. Summarizing, a decently made series especially recommended for fans of the comic and Ivá.
