Anecdotes
After filming, Tiffani Thiessen who plays Jenny Monroe, met the Avila family.

Gaffes
When Jenny is waiting for Carla on the porch, she takes a purple seashell mirror from her purse. When Carla comes to pick her up, she puts the mirror in the purse. As she gets into Carla's car she is carrying the purse with her--during the death scene, when Jenny gets out of the car her purse is still in Carla's car. But when Jean is given the clothes and items Jenny was wearing during her death, her purse isn't visible either meaning it is still in Carla's car. However, later on when Jean and Cheryl are cleaning out Jenny's room, Cheryl picks up the purple sea shell mirror out of Jenny's makeup basket. It couldn't possibly have been in the basket if it was still in the purse, which Jean doesn't have.

Whoever produced this dog should be shot

This is one of the few times a true story is nearly made unbelievable by the idiotic cast of characters. Fortunately, the presence of Patty Duke holds it together somewhat, although for most of the movie, she's as bad as everyone else. It seems that everyone in the world is completely blind to the fact that the real killer is the loon that they've decided is their friend... they miss things like "Jenny told her in a dream," and "You need to go kill him, he did it. And bring me a finger to prove he's dead." Of course, she's not going to just join the lynch mob/family... she's apparently going to wait at home. If you want to know the story, which is tragic, but interesting, read the book... don't waste your time on this movie unless you've nothing else to do and you're snowed in.
