Avis à la une
It's a shame that it's so hard to get a copy of this movie anywhere. I saw this movie back in the 80's on VHS and loved it. It was a video antidepressant of sorts. It's of humor and gags a teenager would enjoy, or in my case, someone who has an overgrown inner child. By no means is this a masterpiece
or a benchmark for any Hollywood movie. This is a low budget, simple, funny, popcorn, leave brain at door, B movie. The cinematography is amateurish, and the writing unpolished, yet charming. I've wanted to re-watch it for ages and see if it holds up and what I'd think of it today. The cast is fabulous and you can tell everyone was there more for fun than just a paycheck. I came upon a low resolution copy of it online after looking for it on every streaming service, to no avail. I watched it 40 years later, and yes, still holds up.
I saw this while in a Taiwan hotel and had to phone down to the desk for the name.
This is pretty much a typical comedy romp through the Air Force Reserves, similar to Police Academy, and it is funny. A great party movie, this film has a lot of great gags.
It's not the greatest film ever to be produced, but it's simple and fun.

I had this movie on VHS when I was a kid. I remember being surprised at how funny this movie was. If you're ever in the need for a laugh, this movie should do it. An over looked classic in my opinion.
I had a couple of scenes in this movie as an extra. I played a photographer in the awards ceremony scene and was one of the airmen chasing after the jeep. It was a great time and Vic Tayback and Lloyd Bridges we really friendly and open. Chris Lemon, not so much. The story wasn't fantastic but Burt Convey kept to a simple premise. Just have fun with it!" IN the end, we did and I think the vibe came across in the final product. The movie is just plain old fun. If you're looking for a good "Popcorn" flick and you don't care if it's "Higher Art", well, then this movie will fit the bill. I am proud to say I had a part in it and the experience was a blast!

- AnecdotesActor Lloyd Bridges, who played Colonel Archer, would go on to feature in the military air force comedies 'Hot Shots!' (1991) and 'Hot Shots Part Deux' (1993) where he played a similar character called Admiral Tug Benson.
- GaffesIn the opening sequence, as characters are introduced, McCracken is shown drinking from a 5 gallon water bottle made of plastic. Water cooler bottles in 1961 were made of glass, not plastic.
