Producer always title his films with triple K and he had to do it with Sultanate also. So he titled the film as Sultanate- Kaarname Kamaal Ke to keep KKK tradition.
Mukul Anand wanted Karan Kapoor for the film because he looks like an American. Since the film was being made in English, Karan would fit perfectly in the film. Karan Kapoor was not interested. He finally gave in after months of persistence by the director
Juhi Chawla claimed that she and Karan did not get any type of training/ grooming for this type of film. She was surprised when she signed the film and she was simply asked to report for the shooting. She felt if she was given a chance to practice and be trained properly she could have performed better.

Producer Arjun Hingorani advertised the film as "The picture is destined to do minimum 2 crores business per major territory because it is made with the blessing of God and as such bound to break box-office records. A picture like SULTANAT is made once in decades". However, the film failed to leave a mark at the box-office.
