The plane used in the movie now sits in the far north Queensland town of Kuranda. It was moved there after it was donated to a family for preservation. The plane was placed in amongst some rain forest vegetation and is slowly being overgrown. Photos can be found online as its a popular tourist attraction.

Second of two Australian theatrical feature film collaborations between actor 'John Hargreaves (I)' and director 'Colin Eggleston'. Their first had been Long Weekend (1978) about eight years earlier.
Actress Briony Behets and director Colin Eggleston were married and worked together on the earlier movie suspenser Long Weekend (1978) which also co-starred this film's lead actor John Hargreaves. For this movie, Behets did not appear in this film but instead went behind the camera with her husband and did Continuity. Behets did appear in Eggleston's later movie Cassandra (1987).
This was the first Australian time travel film. The second, Le fantôme de Beatie Bow (1986), was released several months later.
