Rejected as a cable TV series, Polakof decided to turn it into a theatrical feature. It was too long and had to be edited down to 90 minutes and Martine Beswicke was added as an on-screen narrator to explain the story. Jensen Farley Pictures was going to distribute it in 1983 but the company went bankrupt.
