I love Bugs Bunny.

Happy Birthday, Bugs!: 50 Looney Years (1990) is a TV Special celebrating 50 years of Bugs Bunny and it was glorious.

Positives for Happy Birthday, Bugs!: 50 Looney Years (1990): Given that Bugs Bunny is my favorite of the Looney Tunes characters, this TV Special reminded me why that's the case for me. I loved all the antics Bugs Bunny did and I was smiling throughout the entire runtime. I enjoyed some of the celebrity interviews, but I won't hold that against the special. And finally, the TV Special was a wonderful time in general.

Overall, Happy Birthday, Bugs!: 50 Looney Years (1990) is a fantastic TV Special for Looney Tunes fans and especially fans of Bugs Bunny.

Happy Birthday!

This television special is a mix of retrospective and documentary about the career and life of Bugs Bunny. Little Richard appears as a guest as does Harry Anderson from Night Court. Many other celebrities also make appearancea, either live or taped.

The Warner Bros. studio uses archive footage of Mel Blanc for the retrospective look back as well as old and new animation by Chuck Jones. It is a great companion piece to the Looney Tunes library. Only downside is that it's not available on dvd.
