There aren’t many people in comics who don’t fall into the trap of being overly aggressive in fights. Even the greats, like Batman and Wonder Woman, have regretted going too far with their opponents. One of the few people you could count on to never cross that line was Spider-Man.

Even when he did, it was far and few in between. Now, thanks to the beating he took at the hands of Hellgate (this happens in Amazing Spider-Man No. 7 and 9 by Joe Kelly), things have changed.

Warning! Spoilers ahead for The Amazing Spider-Man #10!It’s been a real whirlwind couple of weeks for Spider-Man, but things are only about to get even more chaotic thanks to a shocking new twist. Meanwhile, his alter ego, Spider-Man, has drastically changed, to the point that heroes, villains, and the media are starting to notice.

During a battle with the Shocker, Black Cat is shocked to see Spider-Man brutalize the criminal, even after he surrenders.

Readers of Joe Kelly, Pepe Larraz and John Romita Jr.’s current run of Amazing Spider-Man are getting a double dose of wall-crawler action each month, meaning the countdown to the landmark issue #1000 is growing ever smaller.

Following his brutal defeat at the hands of the new supervillain Hellgate, there are now two Spider-Men. One Spider-Man has gone cosmic! With that, we can expect new villains, new allies, a new suit and possibly a new girlfriend, as Spidey enters his intergalactic era.

This August, Black Cat is officially in her superhero era. Following Spider-Man's defeat at the hands of the new supervillain Hellgate in upcoming issues of Amazing Spider-Man, Felicia Hardy steps up to the plate as the friendly neighborhood Black Cat in an all-new ongoing series by superstar writer G. Willow Wilson (Ms. Marvel) and rising star artist Gleb Melnikov (Amazing Spider-Man).

This exciting new chapter for the character sees Black Cat test her luck as a superhero, battling some of Spider-Man's fiercest villains between her usual high-stakes heists. Today, you can check out all the covers for the debut issue.

Marvel Comics has revealed information about its upcoming new arc for its current Amazing Spider-Man series. The Amazing Spider-Man #11 will kick off a new storyline that sees two Spider-Men protecting the Marvel Universe. Joe Kelly's current run on Amazing Spider-Man has just finished its first arc, which also marked the first Spider-Man storyline drawn by superstar artist, Pepe Larraz, best known for his work on the X-Men titles. The other ?main" artist on the series, John Romita Jr., is about to start his first arc on the book this week with a story featuring the Black Cat. Marvel, though, is already looking past that arc to show the fascinating new angle on the series where both Larraz and Romita will work Together, as Amazing Spider-Man will soon star Two Spider-Men!

In September's Amazing Spider-Man #11, Spider-Man will be split into two different versions of himself, echoing shades of the classic 1960s story, Superman-Red and Superman-Blue, and while one version of Spider-Man will be lost in outer space, fighting to return home, the other one will continue to have Earthbound adventures.

Spider-Man’s very own Felicia “Black Cat” Hardy is officially returning to the Marvel Universe this August with a brand-new solo series, led by some of the comic industry’s most talented and promising creators. With this return comes a new era for Black Cat, as she fully commits to being a superhero and leaves behind her morally grey tendencies.

August 20, 2025, will mark the official debut of writer G. Willow Wilson and artist Gleb Melnikov’s Black Cat series, which will kick off Felicia’s new era as a fully-fledged superhero.

This series will directly continue the events of Joe Kelly, Pepe Larraz, and John Romita Jr.'s Amazing Spider-Man #8–9 (2025), where Felicia’s “entire world turned upside down after Spider-Man's battle with Hellgate.” As a result, the solo series will follow Black Cat as she turns over a new leaf as New York’s newest hero, apparently leaving behind her character-defining career as a thief.

The new era of Amazing Spider-Man has begun courtesy of Joe Kelly, John Romita Jr., and Pepe Larraz. The series promises to take Peter Parker into bold new territory, and we now have a first look at July's issues.

In the two-part Amazing Spider-Man #7 and #8, Spidey gets utterly demolished by Hellgate, a brutal takedown that marks only the beginning of the mysterious new supervillain's plans for the web-slinger. It's said that the plot will continue to ramp up as the series approaches its milestone #975th issue later this year.

It appears that after its rebirth and the subsequent VR entry, we’re once again returning to the Hellgate series. This time with one of the original developers. Bill Roper, who served as producer, writer, and director of Hellgate: London, has announced the development of Hellgate: Redemption at Roper’s new studio, Lunacy Games.

Per GamesBeat, Roper states that Lunacy recently made a deal with Hanbitsoft to develop Redemption after acquiring a license for the Hellgate: London franchise. “It feels like it’s been a long time in secretive hibernation. So I’m really happy to be able to start publicly talking about what we’re doing,” Roper said. “We’re announcing the Hellgate license on the 27th and that’s my birthday. So I can’t think of a better birthday present to go and play in those demon apocalyptic waters again.”

Roper hasn’t revealed too many details...

The cancellation of Netflix’s Shadow and Bone is upsetting for many reasons. The series’ second season ends with several major cliffhangers. The fates of multiple characters are now eternally left up in the air. But mostly it’s because the world of Shadow and Bone has such potential, and it doesn’t feel like we were (or ought to have been) done with it yet. While Shadow and Bone has yet to get an official Season 2 order from Netflix, a continuation of the epic fantasy series based on the Grishaverse book series by Leigh Bardugo seems inevitable. Arrow Video has announced their December release slate, including several Blu-rays that horror fans will want to pencil in on their holiday wish lists.

Arrow Video announced that they will release Creepshow 2 on both a limited edition and standard edition Blu-ray with a 2K restoration of the original film elements.

Other December Blu-ray releases include a Us/UK Blu-ray and DVD release of 2001's Pulse, aka Kairo, as well as UK Blu-ray releases of Donnie Darko, The Guyver, Cohen & Tate, The Burning, Hell Comes to Frogtown, and Hellgate. So, Arrow Video have gone and done it again, released a movie from the 80’s that many people think of as pure garbage but some people, a niche group of cult horror film fans, look at as a little gem in the realm of “so bad it’s good”.

To the mainstream world he's best known as Horshack from "Welcome Back, Kotter," but to horror fans he'll always be Allen Hawes in Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI . Ron Palillo has passed away at age 63 from a heart attack.

Per TMZ, Palillo died this morning at his home near Palm Beach, Florida. He was found by his partner of many years, Joseph Gramm, around 4:00 Am. Gramm called an ambulance, and Palillo was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Pilillo's other genre appearances include The Curse of Micah Rood, Trees 2: The Root of All Evil, and Hellgate.

Coincidentally, Palillo's "Kotter" co-star Robert Hegyes -- who played Epstein -- also passed away earlier this year after suffering a heart attack.

It's a precious thing when someone like myself can come across something like Hellgate. Why is that? Well, basically, Hellgate is f*cking awesome. Doubly exciting because before I founded it via my favorite Netflix search engine, InstantWatcher, I had never heard of it. I'm not deluded enough to be a skeptic with these things, and so I had half expected a disappointment. And maybe it was the hard cider (Pumpkin, natch), but I loved this movie.

We open on a group of 30-something-looking college students in a cabin in the woods, taking turns telling each other scary stories. The story gets dropped on us via a couple cut-scenes in the 50s. Cue greasers, a highly-stylized-but-still-classic-looking diner, and a barrage of golden oldie tunes mixed with some 80s Kenny-Loggins-type-synth score for the action scenes.
