John Hallam (Captain Drinian) was working on Doctor Who: Ghostlight at the same time as this production - schedules for both were carefully arranged so he could take part in both projects.

Before his death, C.S. Lewis sold the adaptation rights to the entire "Narnia" series. At that time, he absolutely despised television adaptations of his books, believing they were non-realistic, since actors had to wear suits to play non-human characters.

The Pevensie cast had a reunion interview in 2003, which is included on some British DVD versions.

Aslan, and most of the other "allegorical" things in the Chronicles are not an allegory of something in the Bible; rather, they are (to use Lewis's own word) suppositions. Here is what Lewis said on the subject: "I did not say to myself 'Let us represent Jesus as He really is in our world by a Lion in Narnia'; I said 'Let us suppose that there were a land like Narnia and that the Son of God, as he became a Man in our world, became a Lion there, and then imagine what would happen."
