Ing-Marie Carlsson, who plays Berit, revealed that Lasse Hallström made it clear right away that there would be nude scenes. "Then I thought 'no, I don't want that'. But then I read the script and really liked my character Berit. She is cheerful and warm. During a walk with Lasse on Kungsholmen in Stockholm, I explained that I wanted to be a ray of hope in Ingemar's encounter with the adult world," she said.
