This movie was to have been the third collaboration between writer Tom Holland and director Richard Franklin (following Psychose II (1983) and Jouer c'est tuer (1984)). With his career on the rise, Franklin ultimately decided it would be unwise to helm such a low-budget film.
The movie was selected as one of "The Turkeys of the Year" in The Film Yearbook Volume 4.
Jouer c'est tuer (1984) and this movie were the final screenplays that screenwriter Tom Holland produced before he became a director with Vampire, vous avez dit vampire ? (1985).
Michael Winner says in his biography that in preparation for the film, he had to spend time in New Rochelle meeting and speaking with 17 year old girls to audition for the lead role. Unfortunately, some of the local townsfolk suspected him of being a child molester. Luckily, Winner knew the local chief of police, who dissuaded them of their suspicions.
