The movie in 1985 was nominated for 2 Razzie Awards at the Golden Raspberry Awards including Worst Actor - Lorenzo Lamas and Worst Original Song tor the track "Smooth Talker" by Mark Hudson and Michael Sembello. The nominees lost out on the Razzies to Le Vainqueur (1984) on both counts with the winners being respectively Sylvester Stallone and Dolly Parton for the song "Drinkenstein".
Reportedly, producer Jeff Schechtman, New World Pictures and Body Rock Productions allegedly had a lawsuit filed against them claiming the picture's production "practically demolished the premises" of a location which the movie shot at. The relevant address was 5504 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, California, USA and the plaintiffs were the premise's owners/landlords Natalie Robin and Charlotte Reed .This case was reported in an article published in the 4th September 1984 issue of show-business trade-paper 'Daily Variety'. The amount of the claim was US $21,810 in damages plus lost rent revenue.
