Avis à la une
As a Bud Spencer/Terence Hill fan, I always loved to watch these two guys giving a punch for all the bad guys (whose were almost all the same in each movie :)), but this film was the best of their works. All the jokes, the funny characters and scenes (especially the closing sentence) are classic!
The acting is not so strong but in these films it's not really important at all. Spencer and Hill bring their own style, playing each other and tricking, gaging all the time. My only complain is the poor English dub. The Hungarian version is much more witty. Too bad for that.
But don't worry, it's not a big loss. If You like to laugh, but don't care about realism and just want to chill out with a can of beer, this is the movie you must see!

WHO FINDS A FRIEND FINDS A TREASURE is my favourite Bud Spencer- Terence Hill flick. Recently I got hold of the DVD of the same- and it took me back 20 odd years. As a young kid (around 10 years or so) I remember my parents taking me to see this movie in the theatre. It was in the early Eighties when the only English movies appearing in theatres were these dubbed Italian movies, dubbed French movies (read as Crazy Boys- aka Les Charlots) and Indo- Chinese movies- dubbed Chinese kung-fu action flicks. Original Hollywood movies took a while to reach India (at least 10 years). And Bud & Terence provided huge guffaws. The movie is all about a treasure hunt in a supposedly desert island in the pacific. Terence hill is a stowaway in Bud's boat and he manipulates the ship's navigation controls to take them to this island. Then on it's a laugh riot with the duo endearing themselves to the natives of the island. The laughs may not be of that quality we associate with modern day movies- but as nostalgic remembrance of my childhood, I treasure this movie.
This is perhaps the Terence Hill/Bud Spencer movie that I´ve enjoyed the most. A solid plot, a superb reggae-style main title track and the two Italian friends in their very best shape ten years after their first world-wide success "My name is Trinity", make this movie most amusing and even unforgettable. Funny dialogues, funny gags, and of course, the essential punches and slaps. A movie to watch and to keep forever.
Alan (Terence Hill ) obtains a map about a Japanese hidden treasure in a far island. Being pursued by some gangsters he aboard on Charlies's (Bud Spencer) boat who justly sails around the world. Later on , they are shipwrecked and find the treasure island. There they discover which it is not as abandoned as they thought. Then they meet one Japanese soldier (John Fujioka) and a tribe with savage natives (the ordinary Italian secondary Salvatore Borghese, among others). After that, the pair become involved in several adventures, and rare situations full of risks , dangers and fun.
The big time duo from Spahetti Western wrapped in humor as ¨They call me Trinity ¨ and its following as ¨Trinity is still my name¨ and ¨Trouble makers¨ were run out and then they turned into the Police, action, and adventure genre . As they played the Miami series which are set in Florida, such as ¨Miami Supercops¨, ¨Crime Busters¨, and ¨Superfuzz¨ . At Europe these movies are shown on TV very frequently and are part of growing up on kids and teenagers. The stories are plenty of humor and based on diverse personality and physical differences among them . This one deals with the adventure genre and set on a small Pacific island where is stashed a treasure since the end of WWII. It packs silly comedy, tongue in cheek, slapdash, slapstick and the habitual struggles without blood , nor violence, full of abundant kicks, punches, leaps and bounds. Lousy and jolly musical score composed by means of synthesizer by the usual La Bionda. Furthermore it contains average and quite poor cinematography. The motion picture is professionally directed by Sergio Corbucci, an expert on Spaghetti Western, such as he proved in ¨Django¨,¨The Mercenarios¨,¨Compañeros¨,¨Minessota Clay¨,¨Ringo and the golden gun¨,¨Hellbenders¨, among others. The film is absolutely hilarious for Hill and Spencer enthusiasts and ranks among their most famous and most representative ones; , a must see for all their fans. Rating : Mediocre but entertaining.

The movie is about two funny guys whose path crosses with an accident. They land on a small island and they start searching for a treasure which is probably hidden on that island. The movie is pretty funny and if you like bud&terence movies then you will watch this movie twice. The ending of the movie is sad and funny at the same time. And nothing is more important than a friendship. Eat puffin! It gives you power and holds you awake! you will get what i mean when you watch the movie. Ohh, the music is great "movin, cruisin" from La bionda. It has the taste of the early 80s. You can find it on napsters.

- AnecdotesThe movie's joke closing statement read: "The director and the entire production sincerely thank the people and authorities of "The Island" for their courteous and generous collaboration during the shooting of this film, and they solemnly promise never to return nor to reveal to anyone the location of this last unspoiled paradise". "The Island" the movie was actually shot at was Key Biscayne in Florida, USA.
- GaffesIn the scene where the natives lead Bud and Terence to the jap tank, they both wear parts of US uniforms they took from the abandoned WWII US military depot. Hill's shirt has US Air Force written on it, which is incorrect, as the USAF didn't exist before 1947, two years after the end of WWII.
- Versions alternativesOn the Spanish DVD the last shot freeze frames before the last dialogue (in which the title of the movie is out spoken). There is also no end credits.
