A Spanish insurance company is absorbed by a multinational, Bruster and Bruster run by Amanda (Claudia Gravy) and management chief Harry Flanagan (William Layton) The arrival of new capital into the company brings with it major changes in the way the company works, the culture of the company, and its employees: José Ortiz (José Sacristán), Luis (Antonio Ferrandis), Teodoro (Manuel Zarzo), Sinesio (Manuel Alexandre, Antonio Sánchez 'Antoñito (Rafael Hernández). From being gloomy, sad, and multi-employed office workers, they will have to transform into more modern, efficient, and aggressive executives. And along with them, their wives (María Luisa San José, Monserrat Julió, Maria Kosti, Josele Román, Amparo Soler Leal) . The five office workers who are the protagonists of the story will begin the adaptation process with a course taught by an executive known as Dirty Harry. So that, in order to modernize, its employees are obliged to carry out some training courses to adapt to the new situation and the new objectives. Passable and acceptable film about a Spanish insurance company which is absorbed by a much larger American company and in which the absorbed workers are forced to practice new work techniques that give them greater efficiency but also greater stress. The flick packs silly incidents, funny comical sketches, tongue-in-cheek , grotesque situations and above all , it especially contains catching touches of humor and irony . Sitting in a strange middle ground between the completely absurd and the stylishly attractive. There are some nice jokes in the film and the cast , playing eccentric and unlucky roles, make a cosy fit .
This hilarious as well as interesting film is full of humor , brief drama , touching scenes , good feeling and narrating the conflict between the traditional Spanish society and modernity with new work techniques in which only efficiency, by any means, counts. ¨Los Nuevos Españoles¨ was a success among spectators , considered to be a decent, commercial and amusing Spanish comedy . Its nostalgic look has some great moments that reflect a Spain of the seventies : a developing country that was already preparing for the end of Franco's regime and the resurgence of the Spanish Transition. It is full of typical Spanish topics, a simple plot and including atmospheric sets.

Along with those previously mentioned he made another similar comedy: ¨La Adultera¨ .
