I don't think I can describe with justice how great "Ballet Adagio" really is. There aren't enough words and not enough knowledge of ballet terms that I can use to explain how magnificent this is. All I know is that Canadian pair, David and Anna Marie Holmes, perform an pas-de-deux, a very difficult move, and the music in the background is Albinoni's Adagio. Choreography by Asaf Messerer. The great Norman McLaren filmed all those moments in slow motion, a known recurrent in his works, and the great deal of it is that he makes the dancers move like magic. The slow motion isn't artificial like many Hollywood films tend to use it, it's so close to the real movements that you actually think they're dancing like that when in the fact their dance is spinning faster, moving faster, just a little bit.

Ten minutes of pure art and joy, two great performers on a blue set showing their magic through dance, that's what "Ballet Adagio" is. The best part, besides the difficult performance and the amazing jumps is that it doesn't look like something made more than 40 years ago, there isn't much indicatives that it was made in the 1970's. It could have been made yesterday which means it can be very appealing to that audience who isn't much into "old films". Ballet and dance lovers will find it an rewarding experience with no comparative.
