Just five minutes into the film, I could see it was a cheap and awful film!

"Wolves of the Sea" is an ocean-going adventure that also features tropical locales...but with only one problem...none of it was filmed anywhere near any of these places. Instead, the filmmakers clumsily inserted 'actors' into grainy stock footage. Often, they showed animals from all different continents and locations...in a very haphazard way. For example, you see Australian Echidnas, African Leopards and American Armadillos on this island!!

Now with 2025 technology, you could make such a story work...putting actors into CGI locales. But in 1936 it just looked awful and insulted the intelligence of the audiences. It was easy to tell that the film was from one of the so-called 'Poverty Row' studios, that's for sure! Even Monogram and PRC would have been embarrassed to have made such a crappy looking movie!

The film begins with a rich young woman being lost at sea. However, she washed up on an island and seems to be adjusting well to her new life. At the same time, a ship is nearby looking for sunken treasure. The Captain, unfortunately, doesn't know that the men are planning a mutiny. So how do these two stories converge and does anyone still care?!

Overall, "Wolves of the Sea" is a terrible movie. While not funny terrible like "Plan 9 From Outer Space", it is awful nonetheless and isn't even good for a laugh. Avoid at all costs unless you are a masochist!
