This was made shortly after Curly Howard recovered from another stroke. You can see that his speech is at times slurred and his normally lightning-quick reactions are slowed down considerably. His health continued to deteriorate over the next two years, and with few exceptions--Micro Phonies (1945) being one--it became more and more noticeable in his work. He made his last short in 1947 and died in 1952.
First appearance of a new, slower rendition of "Three Blind Mice" as the Stooges' theme music, arranged by John Leipold and Nico Grigor. It was used until 1948.
This has a plot identical to Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy's short La maison de la peur (1930). Fred Kelsey even plays a domineering detective in both shorts.
A rare appearance for Fred Kelsey without his trademark derby and toothbrush mustache.
Curly referring to himself as a "found Link" is a pun on "foundling," a now-dated term for an abandoned child.
