The £30,000 Roddy inherits would have equated to about $143,000 at the time (in 1927), and that amount equals over $2.5M in 2023.
In the rugby match, Roddy Berwick earns the applause and shoulder-high congratulations of his public school chums by scoring a try and converting the kick, but he actually misses scoring the conversion kick by a good six feet. Either it was too expensive/inconvenient to retake the scene or to be fair, the game already was won by then and the conversion didn't matter.
When Sir Alfred Hitchcock looked back on this film, he was quite critical of it and felt that the symbolism he used was a touch too obvious.
The fifty French francs the middle-aged woman pays to dance with Roddy equaled about $2 at the time, which is about the same as $35 in 2023.
A fully-tinted restoration and preservation was done by the British Film Institute in 2012 as part of their £2M project to save all of Alfred Hitchcock's surviving silent films.
