Start and end of movie were carbon copies of Saving private Ryan.

In between, there is the virtually unbelievable tale of a coward British paratrooper who meets up with a Chuck Norris, come Sylvester Stalone war monger type and traveling through a heavily wooded forest constant hounded by 'murderous' Germans.

The who movie is riddled with errors and goofs. Bad acting and poor CGI are the icing on the cake.

But.... I did watch it all the way through and while is was nothing of any historical accuracy, it was light entertainment.

I give it 3 Stars.

Absolute amateurish, no storyline, just a walk in the forest, as WW2 military adversaries. It was so hick the only thing missing were the characters making their own machine gun sounds!

This is possibly the worst film I have ever had the displeasure of watching, the acting is week and the script is woeful. Thee is so much wrong with this film I truly do not know where to start, the uniforms, effects (or lack of) are so so poor. Avoid this film at all costs!

Totally phony, example.....when they show the automatic weapons firing the charging handle is not moving. They could have at least used blank bullets. You could tell they were not firing the guns for real. Took took the excitement out of the movie.

Uniforms were wrong. Neither side had any rank, the plot went from slow to snail paced. I can't imagine anyone in uniform being that pathetic. I really liked the German Wehrmacht soldier with a luftwaffe decal.

A more fitting title should be "A solder and a Coward"'. What complete waste of time.

Well the concept isn't horrible, but whomever put this garbage together doesn't know how to make a movie. High score rating is obviously from friends of the cast and crew.

Unfortunately this movie did not deliver on ANY level. The plot was potentially a good one about the closing days of WW2 in Europe but the weak story line and wooden actors were doomed from the start. The cast was very small with each playing multiple roles and they simply could not carry it off. The SFX were third rate which was right on par with every other aspect of this movie.

If you can find the strength to sit through the movie, take an extra 3 minutes to read the closing credits that will acknowledge the endeavours of the entire family of the writer/producer/director (Jason Mills). Talk about keeping it in the family! There was way too much "Drone" footage and it transpires that the Drone was owned by another family member (probably an xmas gift). In summary this creation had no redeeming features and it is to be avoided at all costs!

The American solider was portrayed as Schwarzenegger in the film commando, not at all the description on the cover of the dvd namely that being of two frightened soliders. The British solider assumed to be a paratrooper returning from battle ? Returning to the UK i assume, so would have had some battle experience one would think. The british parachute regiment of WW2 were volunteers being highly trained elite motivated troops first in to battle more often than not. As he came down by parachute I assume him to be parachute regiment trained and them guys then and now are as one would think more than a little tough. How this man got through even basic training I will never know did his military instructors dish out cuddles Kleenex and mugs of hot chocolate with mini marshmallows. He was made out to be lacking it all common sense, survial instinct, moral fibre, backbone or whatever term you wish to use. Would he have not been taught use of cover, sourcing food, collection of available weapons and ammunition. Once again the 1941 guys won the war again and the British depicted as incompedenent and in this particular effort of film making cowardly. You got to show the star spangled banner so good on you. If you as are as unfortunate as me in having purchased the dvd try and spot the Dutch barn owners shovel, we call them farmers. The shovel displays a sticker with a bar code on it lack of detail one of many faults.

Mr. Sargent did a pretty good job making this film, which is a combination of real-time events as in 1917, and a bit of Saving Private Ryan. Although the film lacks the production values of either of those high-budget films, it still delivers a decent result for the viewer. We see one soldier, a Brit, who narrowly escapes his plane before it is blown to bits, and falls on his knife trying to get out of a tree. He meets an American soldier (who saves the Brit's life), and the two go about trying to escape from behind the lines. A confusing element is the intro, which talks about the vast numbers of Germans that surrendered after D-Day, but we never see any Germans surrendering in this film. Despite a few flaws, the film holds up for an hour and change.

Just horribly bad. So bad, I've wasted more time creating a login to give a rating for the first time in my life. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. The people giving higher scores are family and friends and are deluded.

Hold the camera still. Got a headache attempting to watch this . Low budget. It was ok when nothing else to watch. Drug on at the end. Makes the Brits look cowardly.

What a complete and utter pile of crap. A complete waste of energy to even site and watch. Stay well clear.

Sometimes you seriously wonder how on earth certain movies were even taken into production. This is for sure one of them! How is it possible people are spending good money on producing garbage like this?

I wonder what is worst about it? The bad acting, the historical errors or the totally unrealistic story? A British coward gets lost in the woods and meets an American superman who solely kills half the German army and later meets a friendly "Dutch" farmer. Being Dutch I know the landscape is for sure not Dutch and the farmer tries to speak Dutch words but is failing to be convincing. Just for the movie to end with a cheap rip off of Saving private Ryan.

Absolute garbage.

Avoid this movie, it is a waste of 1.5 hours of your life you will never get back.

In order to take this film seriously, which really isn't possible, one must believe that although the Germans withdrew from the Netherlands on 5 May 1945 and the entire Wehrmacht surrendered three days later, there were still German antiaircraft batteries, dive bomber squadrons, and infantry formations who loved the Netherlands so much that they just didn't want to go home. Then one must believe that instead of sending the masses of veteran Allied combat troops who were already in Germany at the time, someone decided to send a small group of inexperienced British soldiers with parachutes (but not paratroopers) to the Netherlands to eradicate the German fanatics. But wait, there's more! The other main thing that one must believe is that there is also a rogue American who is clearly not in the military, who wears a Soviet helmet and a U. S. airborne shirt from the Vietnam War, who goes to the Netherlands without a firearm to kill all of the Germans.

The film starts with an extremely low-budget exact imitation of the beginning of Saving Private Ryan, except when the man is walking to the gravesite in some small civilian cemetery in a place that's not supposed to look like America, but does, the caption says, "PRESENT DAY", but the man is clearly not at least 99 years old. In the next scene the group of non-paratroopers is aboard three bombers with no gunners. While they are being shot at by flak gunners, they are simultaneously attacked by Stuka dive bombers, because Stuka pilots always fly into friendly flak to attack bombers because they're not designed for aerial combat.

The sole British survivor of the shot-down planes carries a modern knife.

The Germans don't speak German correctly and they all carry submachine guns with magazines that have hundreds of rounds of capacity.

I'll give it three stars because all of the acting isn't terrible. However, the plot, sets, wardrobe, writing, and directing are very bad.

It doesn't matter if the movie is low budgeted one, what really matters is the story behind the movie and it is incredible even though the train engineer British soldier is one hell of a coward and maybe that is why he chose Engineering when joining the Army.

But honestly they have tried and for that it is worth watching. Many lives has been lost during the war with survivalists forever traumatized.

Guys, feel free to ignore all those spoiling the movie. Give it a try and thank me later, forget about the low budget, take a look sy the brave soldier Williams.

He is one man army for real and a treasure.

I have definitely seen alot worse than this, I enjoyed it, Danny Williams as a soldier, great to see him in a movie, check it out with an open mind, you might be surprised

I can understand why people wouldn't like this movie but I really enjoyed it, it's in the lower budget range but is really well done, the acting was pretty good as well

This film was alot of fun to watch, some things I would of liked to see due to budget limits but definitely worth a watch

Really enjoyed watching this film. Pretty cool to see Danny Williams in a WWII film. Enjoyed the cinematography and was happy with the overall picture. Interested to see what else comes from this director.

I found it funny and engaging, and way better than expected. People bashing this movie have to consider the differences between budgets in film making. For example, Behind Enemy Lines cost about $40 million to make... Beyond the Line probably cost less than $40,000. Should only big budget producers be able to release films? Why not support the little guys like this to see the magic they can turn out with relatively no budget.

This film was epic. I don't agree with the other reviewers who said it was lacking... This had all the adventure, heart, and loved the planes in the beginning. Definitely would watch this again.
