In one scene the screen saver on the screen of Bergerac's computer has a picture of some nettles as a nod to John Nettles.
John Nettles, was invited to make a cameo appearance in this reboot but turned it down, because, at 80 years of age and semi-retired from acting, he felt he was "too old and would just be in the way ".
Damien Molony revealed that he received a heartwarming blessing from John Nettles, star of the original Bergerac (1981-1991), after landing the role. Molony and Nettles had lunch together in Torquay, where the two actors discussed their experiences in Jersey.
"Charlie Hungerford" Bergerac's millionaire ex-father in law, played by Terence Alexander in the original BBC series, becomes a woman, played by Zoe Wanamaker, in this reboot.
Filming began in Jersey in the summer of 2024, with filming locations including St Helier. Filming also took place in Plymouth, Devon.
