We love us some Scott Adkins here at JoBlo! And the unofficial successor to Jean-Claude Van Damme’s spinning kicks returns with a new action thriller from Lionsgate. Adkins reunites with Marko Zaror as the two have faced off as rivals in Undisputed III: Redemption and both appeared with Keanu Reeves in John Wick 4. Adkins and Zaror star in Diablo alongside Alanna De La Rossa, whose credits include Sound of Freedom. Diablo is helmed by Ernesto Dìaz Espinoza and he directs from a script written by Mat Sansom. Adkins is also on board as a producer of the film. Lionsgate has now released the trailer, which you can check out above.
The official synopsis of Diablo reads,
“After his release from prison, one man makes it his mission to right a terrible wrong by revealing a secret that could end his life. Scott Adkins stars as Kris Chaney, a...

Martial arts films are well-suited for team-up storylines, often featuring multiple co-lead characters who unite against a common enemy. Team-ups can occur between initially perceived enemies who later realize they are on the same side, adding excitement and conflict to the plot. Martial arts movie team-ups provide thrilling action sequences and chemistry between the heroes, creating an engaging and enjoyable viewing experience.
Martial arts films are often headlined by one main protagonist, but there are also many great martial arts movie star team-ups, as well. More so than many other movie genres, martial arts films are uniquely well-suited to facilitate heroic team-ups of multiple co-lead characters. Usually, this comes about with multiple heroes realizing they share the same enemy, and joining forces to bring them down.
Martial arts movie team-ups also frequently occur in stories in which two heroes at first perceive each other to be enemies. After an initial confrontation,...

Martial arts films with ensemble casts feature an array of heroes and villains, resulting in epic fight scenes and diverse characters. Films like Shaolin Temple and Five Shaolin Masters showcase the talent of established martial arts actors in the genre. John Wick: Chapter 4 boasts an incredible ensemble cast, with Donnie Yen, Scott Adkins, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Marko Zaror joining the franchise, promising a thrilling combination of gun-fu and martial arts.
The martial arts genre is chock full of exciting ensemble movies with large casts of both heroes and villains. In most martial arts films, it's easy to assume there will be one primary protagonist, one major villain, and a handful of supporting characters for each side. However, since martial arts films need as many great fighters on their roster as possible, they are uniquely positioned to expand into big ensembles.

Scott Adkins can be a menacing man if the script calls. The action star recently had some fun in the vamp, action-comedy Day Shift, but he’s been very busy starring in flicks like the recent Accident Man: Hitman’s Holiday. And now, this impressive fellow joins the cast of the excellent sequel, John Wick: Chapter 4. In it, Adkins plays a fellow appropriately named ‘Killa.’ And yes, the dude fits perfectly into this wild world. Joining Mr. Adkins in the fourth John Wick includes a few heavy hitters in the action world, making it all the more thrilling for those of us in the audience to take in.
Recently, I spoke to some of the cast members of John Wick: Chapter 4. It’s been amazing having the chance to cover each of these films, and this fourth time feels particularly special with folks like Donnie Yen, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Mr. Scott Adkins.

It feels just like last month we were complimenting Hulu on its true crime offerings. Well, with its list of new releases for February 2023, Hulu is staying in the true crime lane. Suppose that’ll happen when you push back the release date of a series or two.
February sees the arrival of three notable true crime series on Hulu. Taiwan Crime Stories premieres on Feb. 1 and presents four true tales from Taiwan’s criminal “dark underbelly.” That will be followed by ABC News Studios’ Killing County on Feb. 3. That three-episode series ponders the question “what happens when police kill?” The most interesting true crime offering premieres on Feb. 9. That’s when Stolen Youth: Inside the Cult at Sarah Lawrence College shares its four-episode saga of Larry Ray and the young college students he victimized.

February can be a weird month. It’s too late to wish anyone “Happy New Year,” late enough to abandon resolutions, and too early to leave the house if you want to avoid getting caught in nasty weather (even in Los Angeles).
This month also marks the third and final season of Hulu’s widely acclaimed “Wu-Tang: An American Saga,” which charts the rise of the Wu-Tang clan over time. Season 3 catches up with the Wu-Tang members after their first album, facing divergent paths in the years that follow. As with any group navigating the challenging lure of fame and money, it’s a treacherous road — but an indelible journey. “Wu-Tang: An American Saga” Season 3 premieres February 15 on Hulu.

Not all comic-book movies have to be about superheroes or heroes at all for that matter. Case in point: Accident Man. Originally debuting in a series of comic strips in the 90s, Accident Man was created by Pat Mills and Tony Skinner – two legends of the UK comics scene. For those not familiar with the Mills and Skinner creation, Mike Fallon is a hitman, a stone-cold killer and the best at what he does. Yet he’s no ordinary hitman. Instead, Fallon has a very particular style of assassination: all of his jobs are completed by making it look like the target was killed simply by accident… Hence the name Accident Man.

Scott Adkins is a proselytizer for the art of Hong Kong action films, receiving his baptism as a bit player on Jackie Chan’s The Accidental Spy in 2001. He has been trying to bring Chan’s level of craft and creativity to English-language action ever since, climbing the ranks of the direct-to-video market with gravity-defying kicks until his picture on the box could sell units alongside those featuring Van Damme and Lundgren. Though he has made memorable spin-kicking turns on big Hollywood productions like Doctor Strange and Day Shift—even landing a role in next year’s John Wick: Chapter 4—his bread-and-butter remains […]

"There's a gaggle of assassins about to turn up!" Goldwyn Films has revealed the official US trailer for an action comedy sequel titled Accident Man: Hitman's Holiday. It's the second movie after the original Accident Man in 2018, directed by Jesse V. Johnson, bringing back Adkins as the "accident man" in the title. Scott Adkins returns as Mike Fallon, a tough hitman who makes his hits look like accidents or suicide. The Accident Man is back again and this time he must fight all the top assassins to protect the ungrateful son of a mafia boss, save the life of his only friend, and rekindle his relationship with his maniacal father figure. Sounds wild! In addition to Adkins, the cast includes Ray Stevenson, Perry Benson, Sarah Chang, Flaminia Cinque, Faisal Mohammed, Peter Lee Thomas, and Beau Fowler as "Poco The Killer Clown". Malta’s planning authority has approved plans for the construction of the Mediterranean island country’s first interior sound stage to complement its existing exterior tank shooting facilities.
The new studio space will be built on 4,000 square metres at the Malta Film Studios at Kalkara, adjacent to its exterior deep-water tank.
A highlight of the facility will be an environment-controlled, indoor 2,000 square-metre water tank overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, giving the same infinite horizon effect as the exterior deep-water tank.
The planning approval marks a milestone for Malta’s film and TV sectors and is expected to boost its attractivity as an international shooting location.
“For long years, almost 60 years, we’ve been hearing that sound stages were going to be built in Malta. Today, we are writing our history” said Malta Film Commissioner Johann Grech.
He said that the calls for sound stages were a reflection of Malta’s success as a shooting location,...
