Visage

I've watched many many many horror movies and played many horror games. Visage is by far the scariest most anxiety raising game I've played. I frequently recommend this game to anyone who still brings up PT in conversation.

If your into horror, and by horror I mean a piece of media that creeps into your psychie, placing you on the edge of suspense whereby you hardly dare continue in your journey, then this is for you.

It is not "horror" like Left for Dead, or even like Dead Space, rather this is a creeping, disturbing and suspenseful masterpiece.

The game builds on the the uncanny, from lights that flicker out, to creaking doors, escalating into several points where I was quite literally reluctant to continue. I verbally swore and gasped with literal fright and borderline terror.

The visuals and sound are top quality, especially the surround sound which has you constantly feeling uneasy about the things that you cannot see.

It's also a hard game. The game gives very little to no instruction on how to play, and your aims. This not only works to make you feel a sense of unsettlement, but when things really start to escalate, it can create a sense of desperation. This desperation is increased further by the fact that there is no way to defend yourself, unlike say Alien Isolation.

The only friend here is the light, and you will be desperately seeking, searching and running towards what few pockets of light you discover....

Until the light flickers out.

Some scenes can be quite disturbing, psychogically i mean, but we just see some events when walking in a home. I didnt enjoyed it. The main goals of this game are to find some keys, to not become insane. The soundtrack and the mixing of the game are pretty good and can be scary but its so slow and boring. It s like a walking simulator. It dont have any story and it can make us dont want to finish the game. It lack of purpose and find some keys its pretty annoying. I found other horror games more interesting because it need a better story or a story with more interaction with the environnments or with NPC. Its pretty scary the first hour, but after that its so repetitive.

One of my personal favourites. No crappy zombie apocalypse and mainstream monster hunters. Just ghosts and a creepy mansion. I love everything about it. I am a fan of horror games and horror movies. This game is the reason I bought a PlayStation. If that game came compatible with a vr it would be the ultimate horror. Graphics are exceptional although now starting to look mainstream and norm I would rate 9/10. Story is amazing although nothing fresh or unique it does the job tho it gets 8/10. Horror element is the ultimate this is one of the scariest experiences if you play alone and I could only imagine the passing outs if it came compatible with vr, it gets a 10/10. Value is amazing I got it only for 20 euros. A very cheap price for this kind of terror.

A very daring game, unlike anything else, they've got a full-fledged new genre in horror, good work!
