It has become a trend in India to make movies in the name of History to milk money and create an alternate version of the history.

This movie is no different.

Production wise it looks ok. Cinematography is upto the mark. But, Canadian actor Akshay Kumar does not do the justice with the role of such a great warrior. Akshay looks like a comedian and should stick to the comedy movies only.

The biggest problem with the movie is the powerful thump of the SAMRAT which was totally missing

When it come to historic or war fiction movies we have seen big canvas like jodha Akbar padmavat Bahubali and many more so our exceptions becomes very high and it is very difficult to make a film above all this cults

Akshay failed to deliver an extra ordinary performance and aggression of SAMRAT miss chhillar was not promising..Sonu Sood came out very well with his softness..the movie started with a powerful fight scene but then gradually became dull..technically there was no problem but prosthetics were pathetic specially Akshay with hurted eyes..not a single scene gave the effect or feel of SAMRAT..songs were totally boring and sad..till the end I was waiting for a power punch action or scene but i couldn't find it

the director is of old school daily soaps where betting on him for such a great venture was yashrajs biggest mistake

But of course it is not that bad in compare to box office results.

First is wrong casting,they should cast young and energetic actor like Vicky kaushal. Akshay Kumar is old and you can see that white hairy chest who is representing 26 years young king isn't it funny also he is the actor who make 4 movie in one year,so he didn't work hard for this role, I mean by just wearing king clothes and fake moustache and doing the same rowry Rathore acting and expecting people to watch their movie by doing some emotional religious drama to promote the movie is shameful. When you watch movie there were so many flaws in movie. Story and directions could have been better and they haven't justified the real glory,you can feel that lack of dedications. Actrees is new so no expression on her face while acting and how can we expect chemistry between 25 year young actress with 55 years old actor.

Please dont get fooled by getting patriotic with the great samrat's name.

The movie, music, dialogues, action sequences, thrills, acting, aura, grandeur everything is very below average. The makers have just spoiled the samrat. Bad movie making overall. I suggest to watch on TV or OTT rather.

Intentions were good but outcome is Huge Dissapointing. I remember the 40-50 pgs of Amar Chitra Katha of Samrat Prithviraj that I read decades back in 80s was much much better and entertaining than this movie.

Key Historical incidents are not shown. Read at the end of this review those 12-13 incidents of Samrat Prithviraj.

They have altered some key incidents like Swaymwar and last dwell scene.. huge let down Akshay should have done some look test. He was not looking like a king. His last climax look he should have kept in whole movie.

Director and bad Actor choices are to blame here. There is a huge responsibility while choosing to make a historic movie. If you can't commit, dont do it.

Hats off to SLB. He really nailed it and have set the standards high.
