Avis à la une
One of the best Bengali movies of 2019. Did not let down to it's first film as it kept it's simplicity along with exquisite filming and the essence of bangaliana in it.
Please make more films like this.
Acting wise every one was superb.
Little flaws were there from logic point of views.
But that's alright.
The cinematography was good.
Direction was also fine.
9/10 to make more films like this. With this original bengal essence in it.
Well as a Bengali myself, I don't watch much Bengali movies. And trust me I feel guilty sometimes. As there are countless interesting films coming up every week here regionally. But this is not one of those. Certainly not. It's more of a Typically bengali flavoured dish presented with a Polished modern day touch.
Mystery thrillers are a trend in Bengali culture for so many decades now. There are numerous films based upon the same genre. Yet it never gets outdated nor boring. If done properly though. Here it's a mix bag. Let me elaborate.
I liked the most of its presentation a mystery, treasure hunt movie. But there are some obvious flaws too. Apparently Typical bengali movies comes with this Cliched touches in them. Usually they don't bother much all the time as it profoundly represents our culture and traditional beliefs too. Sometimes it gets too much to handle. And that's a thin line. This one crosses that line on few occasions and That did bother me. Especially with some lesser important characters.
The cinematography & the background score was the highlight of this movie. With some good chemistry working between the lead protagonists. Others have done pretty decent jobs too on their parts as well. There's a twist in the end that got me by surprise to be honest. I didn't see it coming at all. For the historical lessons, I seriously don't know much about the authenticities nor do I care much. The VFX team has surely done some impressive work on the architectural details.
It indeed delivers just fine on what it promised on the front, so not much complaints with that. But with the bigger possibility in hands of becoming a memorable addition in the genre. it's certainly a missed opportunity.

Screenplay very very weak. (Character) Jhinuk she's acting have to endure. One thing not come in my head, no one was able to run *Kucho, when he run in forest. I've given four out of ten only for some legends.
Story: Sonada (Abir), Abir (Arjun) and Jhinuk (Ishaa) visit the Debroy household during Durga Puja only to stumble upon on a treasure hunt that leads them to the fortune hidden in the family's old ancestral mansion, Durgeshgor.
Review: Durgeshgorer Guptodhon is, above all, a two-hour-long lesson on Bengal's rich history and traditions. But this coin, like any other, has two sides. On one side, it's a refresher course in Bengal's history, traditional values and customs, giving it a strong documentary feel. And on the other, there's the thrill of the treasure hunt. But a bit more of that thrill in the first half would have definitely made it a better watch. It seems to take too long to pick up pace, making the first half a bit of a drag.
But apart from the obvious depth of research behind the script, the film definitely earns additional brownie points for the visuals and the music, which is an integral part of the treasure hunt. It's the songs and the lyrics that keep unveiling the clues that guide Sonada and team towards the treasure hidden in Durgeshgor. The visuals have a rustic...
