Avis à la une
The action is quite something by the female boxing champ. Convincing.
The faults are glaring - a lack of continuity in the story telling. Also the jumping around in time breaks up the tension - should have been chronological. Why the sister got into so much trouble is a bit too much. Harder to stomach than the over the top fight sequences.
Not quite worth watching.

There's always room in the action genre for more "one-man army" thrillers, but this has typically been a male-dominated space. It's therefore always great to see women getting in on the action. Lee Si-young (In Ae) is also no stranger to heavy-hitting, having a rather successful background in amateur boxing. This probably makes her fight choreography all that more believable.
No Mercy falters only in two instances, the first being the convoluted story-telling and secondly, by subjecting the younger sister to one too many ordeals in such a short space of time, hence losing its emotional weight somewhat. But those gripes aside, the action scenes are well coordinated and the revenge aspect is quite satisfying. It's the type of movie that caters to our natural instinct of (justifiably) punching numerous henchmen in the face.
No Mercy is one of the better action thrillers I have seen of late, with a strong female-led cast.

I first saw her in BOF. And after what she did there I didn't like her at all. And then many many many years later, I came across her on insta one random day and I was like ..wow ..she's gorgeous, I know her from somewhere, don't I?
Obviously I had some help recalling the where. And since then she became one of those celebs... Yeah I know, I know, this is a review section.. so coming back to No Mercy. This is a decent revenge action flick. The plot says it all. The story's as predictable as it gets. There's nothing new to explore. And maybe that's why the low rating. So I thought this would end up in my what-was-i-thinking-watching-this list of movies but it didn't. I liked it(what do you mean I'm just saying this coz I like her). It sticks to it theme and yeah there are a few loose ends but those can be excused for this particular genre. So if you just want to watch a pretty girl do some decent action and not think too much about the how's, the what's and the why's of movie logic then this one's for you.
P. S. Will I watch it again? Probably not(at least for a while).
Okay.. time to go review her other works. Hehehe.

Lead Lee Si-young is incredible in this movie. She really gets to show off her boxing skills, and it's absolutely action packed, but there are so, so many holes within the screenwriting and overall story arc. It's almost like you're thrown into one scene, a one day action film that gives you zero background about the young girl Eun-hye and her sister. I appreciated the film for its use of great action shots and intensity in the fighting scenes, but it doesn't do much more within an hour and a half. The crazy thing is, the writer-directors chose such an important topic that it absolutely could have had more of an arc but ended up letting the viewer down by not living up to it.

- GaffesNumerous scene switches that seem out of sequence or missing any rational explanation of how characters got where they were after what they'd just shown the last time they were on camera - especially off in the last 20 minutes.
