100 Vaginas

Dumb TV from a woman who calls herself an artist, taking photo's of a vagina is not art. If so, Penthouse, Escort, Hustler etc are therefore rampant with artists. Promptly followed by women talking about how people perceive masturbation as shameful, perhaps in the 19th century but this is the 21st, so also incorrect. To sum it up in a nutshell, just feminists showing their pussies, talking about periods and saying naughty words, yawn. Everbody else couldn't give a toss.

At the time of this review three others had already reviewed this provocative and inspiring documentary about women. I don't know if the other three reviewers were women, but they gave reviews of a 7, a 6 and a 5. The 5 labeled the film as Dull. I am a man and a lover/supporter of women. I very much appreciated the courage of the producer/director protagonist who deeply touched my soul with these narratives that cut across ages, races and ethnicities. This was a story that has waited all too long to be told. One reviewer labeled it a feminist film. Perhaps in some ways it is, but let's call it as it really is! It is a film about the culture of people who represent over half of the worlds population. It is human drama that is true but rarely discussed. It is there to enlighten and make humanity something much better. Never mind being appalled by the nude pictures and closeups. This film was made to lift you up to a mountain level to cast an eye on OUR humanity (men included!).

Depending on your opinion this is either scraping the barrel or interesting and thought provoking. Channel 4 seem to be in a mess recently with programmes like Naked Attraction filling their late night slots, and this is arguably yet another excuse to show nudity. I'm not being prudish, but Channel 4 seems to consist of filler TV like Come Dine With Me, bad panel comedy shows and overly salacious stuff like this. From the channel that brought us Brass Eye, Lipstick On Your Collar and Father Ted. And more recently Peep Show, Shameless and Utopia.

Photographer Laura Dodsworth takes picture of vaginas and women discuss their sexual experiences in a nutshell. Maybe that's diluting it, but it is what it is. What you end up with is the really interesting, darker stories don't get told until about three quarters of the way through and already most viewers will be bored by then.

I'm not going to discuss the sexual politics side or feminist angle. As a documentary it was just boring to me, cold and clinical.

The women in this documentary give a very honest, forthright and down to earth view of how they feel about their own sexuality and bodies. The range of topics covered is amazing, with no holds barred. If you're looking for a cheap thrill, forget it, but well worth a look if you can handle the truth.

As a woman - the 'secret life of women' needs to be discussed and revealled.

we are 51% of the population but our lives are not discussed and this leads to ignorance.

Most politicians and decision makers are men and they are ignorant about women . Until 51% of politicians and decision makers are women, we need to educate men - physicians and parenters alike.

Women protect men from the various areas of our lives because our lives are difficult and men choose not to know - its time for a reveal and education
