Avis à la une
Hogar means home in Spanish! Hogar or The occupant is a nicely crafted movie with a great acting and scenamatography.
While there's a scarcity of content, this movie rise up with an extraordinary one! Starts so good and keeps you embezzled with whats gonna happen next. The apartment on which the movie is centered around is so beautiful that you fap in love with it and don't wonder why the protagonist or an antagonist in another perspective does all this to achieve it! Perfect and so entertaining!
Spanish thrillers are quite something. The moral code might feel off for many and there is quite the wrongness to a lot of things happening. But the moviemakers do not judge, they just tell. And sometimes that means as a viewer you don't know which direction the movie is going.
Also it is quite evil to make us feel sorry for a character who is not "good" by a long shot. Having said, the story is quite entertaining and our main character is intriguing. We get his struggle, but do we also get his decisions and actions? That is up to you to decide ... but the movie itself is really having you on the edge of your seat. Someone wrote the movie him anxiety ... without even reading the whole context, I totally get it. This is not easy and mostly not pleasant (in a traditional sense)

When someone used to a typical lifestyle that started to possess him rather than vice versa !
The film has a simple premise, but it is strengthened by another stupendous performance by Javier Gutiérrez, who along with Antonio de la Torres are, in my opinion, the two best Spanish actors in recent years. Javier Muñoz represents the decline of the perfect life of a man, who longing for his best days, decides to ruin the perfect life of that man who he understands has taken his place and has taken away what has belonged to him during all the past years. It is still a perfect portrait of thousands of men who, longing for a perfect life, decide to do whatever it takes to achieve their most pathological wishes. It is incredible what the most twisted mind of a human being is capable of when it seeks to achieve what its own mind has idealized, in this case, a perfect home with all it's components. It is not a perfect movie, it does not have a 'punchline', but it is sustained in another masterful performance by Gutiérrez.
Xavier Gutiérrez is a very good actor, and his acting is credible; unfortunately the plot it is not. Second half of the movie is a series of embarrassing and obvious situations which, on the other hand, have been badly done.
