If you grew up in the early 2000s, chances are you spent many evenings with Ray Barone (Ray Romano) and his eccentric family in the hit comedy series "Everybody Loves Raymond." For good reason. This critically acclaimed sitcom about Ray, a Newsday sportswriter, dealing with his put-upon wife Debra (Patricia Heaton), bickering parents (Peter Boyle and Doris Roberts), and neurotic brother Robert (Brad Garrett), perfectly captures the working-class family and all its quirks, resulting in a heartfelt, often hilarious look at everyday life.
Running from 1997 to 2005, "Raymond" won 15 Primetime Emmys, garnered critical acclaim, and averaged over 20 million viewers during its peak. More impressively, the cast became household names, forever tied to their characters. Still, while many cast members achieved even greater success following the show's finale, others faded into obscurity or endured heartbreaking tragedy. Interested to learn more? Before Everybody Loves Raymond, Peter Boyle appeared in Joe (1970), The Candidate (1972), Young Frankenstein (1974) and Taxi Driver (1976), as well as on and off-Broadway. Fans adored him in the role of Ray and Robbie's deadpan, slightly cranky dad, Frank.
However, off-screen, he was nothing like his coarse character. Instead, he was a friendly, warmhearted guy.

Warning: Spoilers for Fraiser season 2, episode 9
Frasier Crane seems to have found his significant other in Holly Quagliano in Frasier. Played by actor Patricia Heaton, Holly debuted earlier in Frasier season 2, with her and Frasier finally becoming a couple in season 2, episode 9. The episode in question shows Frasier trying to prove he can be "cool" enough for Holly, only to unwittingly take her to Olivia's dreaded murder mystery party. Thus far, Heaton has been a refreshing addition to the Frasier reboot's cast.
Frasier isn't the first show Heaton has starred in alongside Kelsey Grammer. This series continues the pair's long-running work relationship, setting up a compelling new romance for the show. Not only do Grammer and Heaton work well together on-screen, but Holly is also the romantic foil that Dr. Crane needs to evolve as a character in 2023's Frasier revival.

Much like the original series, the "Frasier" revival has continued to provide an array of guest stars with each new episode. Season 2 has already brought back one of the best recurring characters from the Og series, and we've had a guest star who shares real life connection to Frasier himself, Kelsey Grammer. Everyone's favorite stuffy psychiatrist also traveled back to Seattle, the city in which he lived for all 11 seasons of his '90s show, where we got to see the return of fan favorites Bob "Bulldog" Briscoe (Dan Butler) and Gil Chesterton (Edward Hibbert).
As the season draws to a close, the show continues to bring in the guest stars, and episode 9 gives Frasier a new love interest in the form of Holly. Played by Patricia Heaton, Holly is a bartender at one of Frasier's local drinking spots. Holly actually appeared back in episode 2 of the revival's second season,...

Frasier Crane appears to have found a potential love interest in the Frasier reboot. Season 2 of the revival series will see Kelsey Grammer reunite with a former co-star who catches the title character's eye.
According to Deadline, the Frasier reboot Season 2 cast has added Patricia Heaton, a two-time Emmy winner for her performances on Everyone Loves Raymond and a Daytime Emmy recipient for her Food Network show, Patricia Heaton Parties. She was also nominated for a Critics' Choice TV Award for starring in the sitcom The Middle. In Frasier, Heaton will portray Holly, a "down-to-earth, unpretentious, and openly mocking of overly-intellectual types. A Boston native who tends to bar at upscale restaurants and events, Holly is extraordinarily comfortable with both who and where she is in life, a quality that the always-climbing, always-reaching Frasier (Grammer) finds as alien as he does attractive."

Mending the Line is a solid study of Ptsd and guilt with strong performances from Brian Cox, Sinqua Walls, Wes Studi, and others. Beautiful cinematography in Montana sets a warm and relaxing mood for the film. While a bit predictable, the film's deep moments and universal themes make it stand out from other melodramas. Its use of fly fishing, too, creates a great allegory.
It’s a bit of a surreal head-scratcher watching the first hour of director Joshua Caldwell’s Mending the Line, mostly because of Brian Cox. That’s not a bad thing at all, and undoubtedly, Cox’s presence works in this film’s favor. But the more you find yourself engaged in this endearing film, you realize several things: Sure, Cox is a sublime actor, but my oh my… it’s hard to shake off Logan Roy, the steely corporate giant Cox brought to life on HBO’s Succession,...

Exclusive: Thomas Lennon (Reno 911!), Chelsea Frei (The Moodys), and Larry Joe Campbell (The Orville) have been set for guest star roles in the forthcoming second season of Fox’s popular workplace comedy Animal Control, starring Joel McHale.
Others set to appear in S2 guest roles, as previously announced, include Ken Jeong, Sarah Chalke, and Krystal Smith.
Premiering last February, the show created by Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg and Dan Sterling follows a group of local Animal Control workers whose lives are complicated by the fact that animals are simple, but humans are not. McHale plays Frank, an opinionated, eccentric Animal Control officer who may not have gone to college but is still the most well-read person in the room. A former cop, Frank tried to expose corruption in his department, but his efforts got him fired, which may explain why he’s so cynical and curmudgeonly. He has an almost superhuman ability to understand animals.

Spoiler Warning: This story discusses specific events in Season 2, Episode 4 of “Star Trek: Picard,” currently streaming on Paramount Plus.
As even casual fans of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” know, one of the beloved sci-fi show’s most meaningful relationships was between Capt. Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and the proprietor of the main bar on the U.S.S. Enterprise, Guinan (Whoopi Goldberg). The characters mean so much to each other that Stewart moved Goldberg to tears when he invited her to join him on the “Tng” sequel series “Star Trek: Picard” while appearing on an episode of “The View” in January 2020.
The Season 2 premiere of “Picard” wastes little time in bringing Goldberg back as Guinan, with a lovely scene in which the two old friends throw back some strong hooch in Guinan’s bar on Earth, as she attempts to soothe Picard’s wounded psyche.

Alec Baldwin and Kelsey Grammer’s comedy will not be moving forward at ABC and is being shopped elsewhere. The straight-to-series order, which also had Alec Mapa attached to star, was scrapped after network executives saw the completed pilot episode, directed by James Burrows. ABC had been lining up the half-hour series for the 2021-22 season.
Per the logline, the untitled multi-camera series revolves around three men who were roommates in their 20s until their warring egos drove them apart. Now, the trio is reuniting decades later for one more run at the lives they’ve always wanted.
The series will mark Baldwin’s first major broadcast role since “30 Rock.” Grammer, most known for his roles in “Frasier” and “Cheers,” had most recently appeared in an episode of the CBS comedy “Carol’s Second Act,” after starring in the 2019 Fox legal drama “Proven Innocent,” which was canceled after only a single season.

So far on “The Masked Dancer,” three of the judges have correctly guessed the identities of some of the costumed dancers. Ken Jeong named Bill Nye as Ice Cube, Brian Austin Green predicted Elizabeth Smart as Moth and Paula Abdul went with Brian McKnight as Cricket. That leaves Ashley Tisdale as the only “Tmd” panelist to not throw out a correct guess … yet. Of course, there are still five masked twirlers in the competition, so Ashley has a chance to get on the board with a point before the winner is ultimately crowned. CBS will begin rolling out its scripted shows in November.
The Eye network will debut ten shows during the first three weeks of November -- nine returning series and one new addition to its roster.
Among the premieres are the NCIS trio, B Positive, Young Sheldon, Mom, and S.W.A.T.
The Neighborhood, Bob Hearts Abishola, and All Rise are also set to return.
The Equalizer, as well as returning dramas Blue Bloods, Bull, Evil, FBI, FBI: Most Wanted, MacGyver, Magnum P.I., and Seal Team, and comedy, The Unicorn, are still awaiting word on when they will return.
The good news is that the series with confirmed premiere dates will launch with several episodes banked, allowing them to air without breaks, initially.
CBS previously announced its intention to air a business-as-usual fall sked earlier this year, but with uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic, there was no telling whether that would be possible.

CBS‘ fall schedule is looking a lot more like a fall schedule, with the setting of premiere dates for nine of 18 returning shows that now have full episodes in the can — including the well-watched NCIS and its many offspring, plus Young Sheldon and the suddenly Anna Faris-less Mom.
Also scoring a premiere date is the freshman comedy B Positive, starring Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley) and Annaleigh Ashford (Masters of Sex).

Exclusive: CBS has put in development crime drama Follow the Money, from writer Michael Peterson, and Alam, the Family, a semi-autobiographical multi-camera comedy from writer-comedian Sabrina Jalees. Both projects hail from Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment and CBS TV Studios.
In Follow the Money, written by Peterson, a brilliant forensic accountant, who turned in her own father for engineering a high-profile pyramid scheme, teams with a hedonistic FBI agent running from his troubled past to solve the most challenging crimes by following financial clues, proving that while people may lie, money never does.
Peterson executive produces with Kapital’s Kaplan and Dana Honor. Kapital is producing alongside CBS TV Studios.
Alam, the Family is based on the life and childhood of Jalees. Written by Jalees, the comedy is about a Pakistani American family living in New Jersey in the ‘90s that explores race, queerness and the idea that we’re...

ABC has put in development a multi-camera parents comedy from Sabrina Jalees (Carol’s Second Act) and 20th Television.

Toronto native Jalees got her start on Canadian shows such as Much Music’s Video On Trial and Ytv’s In Real Life. Her previous credits include consulting producer on Big Mouth and Human Resources for Netflix, executive story editor on Search Party and ABC’s The Mayor and consulting producer on Human Resources.
