Avis à la une
This is another recycled story line with a woman hiding the big secret that she isn't who everyone thinks she is. She is doing it in the same building where she is a security guard, so there are a lot of near-miss situations. Of course, everyone knows she's eventually going to get caught. Throw in a very jealous co-worker to complicate things.
Lacey is a big-hearted woman who happens to have an unrealized and hidden talent for advertising, but she works two minimum wage jobs to make ends meet and they don't quite meet. I never really liked Greg enough as Lacey's opposite. He's not really bad, but he's in over his head and very inconsiderate of those he manages. Kate Mansi and Matthew Lawrence don't really have enough screen time, at least not outside the job, so I can't compliment the chemistry.
The story pretty much follows the expected formula. There are a few funny near-miss encounters but the head security guy is overly silly. And yes, the sets aren't impressive.

I was really hoping to live this movie. But honestly I don't even blame the actors. As most were veteran actors. The directors vision is what the problem was. The acting felt forced and unnatural. I'm not sure what kind of comedy they were going for. But it felt like an 8th grade play. It was very off. The script might have had potential Im not sure at this point. As a huge fan of the Lawrence brothers this was a huge disappointment. I kept hoping for it to get better. I'm very surprised because I've seen them act before. Down to Joey Lawrence's beard. It looked so fake! His acting was off. I only gave this 3 stars because in my opinion Mathew Lawrence did a great job.
There are no profound surprises within the story and yet I had an eager motivation to see it end the way it did and that's because everyone was just so likeable in one way or another.
Kate Mansi who played the lead, definitely radiated a feel good Marisa Tomei vibe and you can always count on the Lawrence brothers to put together an enjoyable production. Throw in an array of support characters like the nutty security officer Bertie, the obnoxious narcissistic rival (but super eye catching) Cynthia and the nice but totally neglected for her aptitude Erin and the light hearted comedy throws a big smile on your face.
Sure the whole thing's not epic in nature but it delivered so much more than what I've summarized.

A delightful nonsense chick flick - zero budget, with minimal cast, but enough movie tension to stop me walking away during the movie, I almost didn't watch because it was below my normal watch review rating, some of the reviews are overboard harsh. Way better value than the standard Netflx chick-flick 'Mills & Boon' offerings.
I happened upon this and thought I'd give it a shot. It's definitely lower budget, but it's actually really cute. If you like wholesome type films, this one is enjoyable. The main character is just darling. If you're looking for a blockbuster, this probably isn't the film for you, but it's entertaining and warming.
