Solid cast with a clever premise revolving around 3 different women who have lived in the same Pasadena mansion but in 3 different time periods (60's, 80's, present). Love the costumes, hair, and makeup for the various time periods as well. Very campy and fun writing. If you like Desperate Housewives, you will like this as well. Can't wait to see how the various plots hash out over the season.

Put your views of the world aside and enjoy this show for what it is. Good story telling. The world is different now than it was 20, 30, even 50 years ago, but some things stay the same love, anger and revenge. I see that in this story and the first episode drew me and had me wanting more. Can't wait to watch the rest of the season.

Wow, what a fun, superbly executed concept. Stylish, funny and original. Acting, direction superb. Lucy Liu is hilarious. Her absolute best!!
This really should not be missed.

This show had me hooked IMMEDIATELY! So many others take me a few episodes to really get into it, man! Not this one. The second season is done a bit differently than the first. Doesn't matter because the cast is strong and the storyline is so interesting and fun. The first season was glorious. The way they told the stories, just perfection! I'm so happy I found this show. If you're looking for AMAZING actors and meaty storylines this is for you. Lucy Liu and Ginnifer Goodwin's performances were just fabulous! Made me fall in love with Lucy Liu allover again! Then when the second season showed up with Allison Tolman and Nick Frost as key players, I thought to myself...they've done it again. Struck gold with the cast! This show is fun, exciting and very easy to follow. If you're looking for a binge worthy show, well you've found it!

This is a 7/10 show but what a wonderful direction and camera work in the finale 10/10 for that.

This show started out strong and continued to improve, culminating in an absolutely breathtaking season 1 finale. This show took cliched subject matter and turned the "women who kill" trope completely on its head by creating incredibly nuanced female characters. Initially, I found the Lucy Liu storyline to be the weakest, relying too heavily on stereotypes. But over the course of a few episodes, her storyline quickly became the strongest, and was expertly acted by both Lucy Liu and Jack Davenport. I laughed, I cried, I'm waiting with baited breath for season 2!
I liked it, the story is beautiful and interesting despite its simplicity, I liked all the characters in the three different decades, it seems that it will become one of the best I've seen, I hope another season from now

EDIT: My original review was for the full season 1. Loved it. My wife and I watched season 2 ... well, half of it anyway, and just could not keep going. For me personally the magic was completely gone. Hard to pinpoint why, but I missed the clever narrative devise of multiple timelines from the first one. It wasn't terrible, but with so much great content available these days it simply was not worth my time to continue watching. The critics have the opposite opinion of mine, so obviously some people may love season two, good for you, glad you enjoyed it :-)
My new rating of a 7 reflects a 9 for season one, and a 5 for season two.

ORIGINAL REVIEW
I enjoyed Desperate Housewives (yes a guilty pleasure) when it was on, and nothing has quite filled that "dramedy" niche for me since. Well, the same creator rolled out Why Women Kill, and it feels completely the same (pacing, filming style, writing, humor). But it is freshened up a bit and has the multiple storylines across different eras, plus has been retooled as anthology style with independent seasons (I love this trend by the way). But if it had a woman narrating the beginning and end you would swear you had just watched Housewives! Anyway, that's it ... plain and simple, if you loved Housewives then this show is for you. And if you never saw Housewives and enjoy a fun and quirky comedy show (almost a comedy soap opera in way), then go watch that first!

I have watched season one several times. It's so very good.
Season 2 is boring and very disappointing. The plot lines are all over the place and the characters are hard to like.

Season 1 is really popular in China and it's worth it but S2 is disappointing.
Foreshadowings are given up and some plots are too deliberate. The ending is unsatisfactory.

S1 was great and is definitely a worth watching show. S2 is more like a torture, just one storyline and a boring one. It gives the audience nothing but the craving for it to end soon. You will be tempted to skip some episodes just to see the finale. It was like watching a totally different show, in not a single aspect related to Season 1. I will give a chance for 1 or 2 ep if they make a 3rd season, but my expectations are very low now.

Both seasons of this show had my on the edge of my seat! I absolutely love the women lead cast, and I was very impressed with the compelling stories and fabulous sets and costumes.

This was a slowburner for me.
When I started the show I wasn't sure, and by the end I thought it was one of the best I've seen. It's funny, original, and heartwarming (but not cheesy). Lucy Liu and Ginnifer Goodwin are absolutely fantastic. Watch it! You will be glad you did.

I didn't expect a second season of this show, but was very happy to get it.
Season one was like a trilogy spanning decades, which was an interesting idea. I very much preferred Lucy Liu's story of the three - it had the more believable (and ultimately touching) premise. But dark humour does not have to be believable - it can be almost cartoonish. I thought the Lucy Liu story was 10/10, but season one was a 9/10 for me overall.
I couldn't understand how there could be a sequel to this trilogy and I was pleased that season two was not simply a continuation, but rather a brand new story. If anything, I guess it would be a prequel because of the earlier time period. Nick Frost was the only actor that I am really familiar with and it was good to see him in something again, but I thought all the performances were good. And this was an equal opportunity season - it's not only that women who kill, after all!

The show is absolutely brilliant! It got me head over heels, once I'm rooting for the characters, other times they get me pulling my hairs. The story is more complicated than it seems, flat is the farthest from truth. Rooting for more episodes and seasons!
Watch it, people! That's a memorable drama you don't want to miss!

For all those people who have missed Desperate Housewives, this wonderful series fills the gap. The three time zone formula is delightful and has keeps things from getting stale. Eye opening contrast about how fidelity an unfaithfulness are handled in the 60s, 80s and now.
The cast is well suited to their roles. Ginnifer is cuddly as the initially doormat 60s housewife and Lucy is good as the status conscious 80s woman with a gay hubby. In the present day Alexandria Daddario is quite pretty as the bisexual temptress.
This show really fills a void.

The cast is great, especially the murderous Lucy Liu. I am in. They are more intriguing than those three women in Charlie's Angels reboot.

Season 1 is so fresh, entertaining and funny! Left me wanting more but the second season was quite boring, overtwisted and almost cringy. Yes yes it is supposed to be in this line, buuut... quite overdone compared to the previous season.

I LOVED the comedy of Lucy of the 80's. The clothes were spot on and reminded me of high school. He sarcasm had me laughing out loud. Beth in the 60's was so creative and realistic. Neighbor is Hilarious.
Season 2, I predicted the plot 20 minutes into 2nd episode. It's slow and not funny, at all. I kept waiting (on the 5th episode) for it to switch decades, but the show ends and I am left disappointed everytime. It feels like the characters are overacting.... seems more like a play.
Mark Cherry, go back to FILMING and the sarcastic comedy of season ONE.
