Tu emmènerais qui sur une île déserte?

I found this a few days ago on Netflix as I was looking for movies to practice my Spanish. I liked it immediately, the cultural aspect - the way Spaniards interact vs Canadians or Americans/English. I lived in Hollywood for years and used to help some of my friends (some are famous actors) prepare for their roles. So I know how to spot a good actor - and this little movie is full of them. It develops slowly compared to Manic and predictable yet empty Hollywood movies, but that is what I like to see because it reflects reality. The twist was quite shocking to me in a good way - it really surprised me. I loved the drunk arguments which reminded me of a movie I saw long ago with my friend's grandmother playing a wife of a professor I think (Who's afraid of Virginia Wolf I think is the name). I loved it and I watched it several times actually (which I normally do only with Almadovar's movies). I have never seen any of these actors before. Very refreshing especially if you are fed up with boring Hollywood manic predictable sameness. Music was not bad but at at times too revealing of what's to come next. And I found a couple of long discussions a bit predictable and over the top - but overall I recommend it - and I showed some bits to couple of friends and they wanted to watch it (but we had to go) - I am definitely going to watch it again. Reminds me of my student life in London and of many good and funny things I have done. I like how the approach to the story is as different to predictable Will and Grace nonsense as possible. Very Spanish/European - refreshingly very different from toxic mania of Hollywood.

I was surprised by this gem. If you're used to watch series where every other scene has a winner and a loser, then this is not the movie for you; probably these were the bad reviewers.

First of all, the acting is amazing. And I think it's beautiful how the story slowly unravels. It's about young people having dreams and ambitions, about truth, deceit, love and friendship. It made me think of the time my friends and I graduated from university being full of dreams about the future and what we all would become. The whole setting made me think this could easily be a theatre play.

It is a great movie. Meaning and hidden messages of this movie are great and very relatable to real life. However, you won't probably get most of them if you are not a spanish speaker.

I think this movie is quite underrated. Maybe because people watch it for Jaime and María and expext the same type of vibe as in Elite or La casa de papel.

This is just an ordinary story of four friends. One day and one night in Madrid. It's all about the feelings, conversations, dreams and life choices. It's simple, it's well performed and it's definitely worth a watch.

It felt a bit underdelivered but still worth a watch.

It makes you think (as a student yourself), where will I be in a couple of years and how will my life turn out?

At first it seems the ''hidden secret'' is not such a big thing but the end it felt realistic and impactful.
