Odd Man Rush

The acting was great and the entire movie really good. Hockey movies can be iffy but this one did a good job. Anyone who knows anything about trying to keep the dream alive by going to play wherever they'll have you will relate to this film. They did a great job of making upstate NY and Colgate look like the deep deep minors of Germany and desolate rural small-town Sweden. I was very pleasantly surprised. Even you are not familiar with the topic the movie stands on its own as all the characters are memorable, really well portrayed and the story believable. 2 thumbs up.

So, the film is mainly set in Sweden but recorded in the US. They put up some Swedish flags and misdesigned road signs to try and create some Swedish touch. It doesn't work at all. If they at least had tried to scout locations that resemble Swedish architecture, they could have got a away with it.

The story line is fine I guess, with a hockey player dreaming of the big leagues. Some stereotypes are definitely included but held back so you're not too disturbed by them.

But the end is like the movie has been cut off halfway. The story isn't horrible but with the lack of ambition with the location and the end, just stay away and save your time.

Well its icehockey or death. its as simple as that, like other ones would die to become a mechanic or busdriver, it has so many ironic situations and light jokes so it tease even the grumpy old man to laugh.

if your in for serious biographical hockey stuff you will have to look elsewhere, because this is just good old fun

Nothing happens, the acting is HORRIBLE. The movie finished with no conclusion. I am SO ANGRY at myself for sitting though this garbage!!

Funny, ironic and realistic. For the 1000s of hockey star wanabees, this movie was made for you. These guys went further than most and must come to grips with reality and the real world.
