How Batman: The Animated Series Failed Catwoman
Image
Batman: The Animated Series is above reproach in most aspects. The groundbreaking show delivered what many fans consider the definitive version of The Dark Knight, as well as introducing his rogues' gallery to millions of new fans. Actor Kevin Conroy's performance as Bruce Wayne is routinely cited among the best interpretations of the character ever, as is Mark Hamill's Joker: both of them first among equals in a very crowded field. On top of all of that, The Animated Series straight-up created Harley Quinn, who has since become one of the DC Universe's most beloved anti-heroes. There is little about it that doesn't deserve the very highest praise.

One character, however, constitutes something of an Achilles' heel. Catwoman never quite caught hold on the show, despite a brilliant vocal performance from Adrienne Barbeau. The reasons come down to poor timing and a lack of clear vision,...

Dylan Sprouse Is Engaged To Barbara Palvin: Source
Image
Wedding bells are ringing for Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin! A source tells Et, the longtime couple is engaged.

“Dylan and Barbara are engaged,” the source revealed. “They have been showing off her ring to people and are so happy. They’re always very in love with one another and by each other’s sides, but they’re even happier than usual. They can’t wait to start this new chapter together.”

Et has reached out to their reps for a comment.

In early March, Sprouse and Palvin sparked engagement rumours when they were spotted at the Mammoth Film Festival and Palvin had a ring on that finger. Reps for the couple did not confirm their engagement at the time.

A source told Et, “Barbara and Dylan seemed so happy and comfortable together all weekend during Mammoth Film Festival. Dylan let her do her thing at events and she was in a great mood.

Lou Ferrigno to Play Cannibalistic Pig Farmer in First Creature Role Since the Hulk (Exclusive)
Image
Lou Ferrigno is set to play a murderous, cannibalistic pig farmer known as “The Hermit” in U.S.-based Italian director Salvatore Sclafani’s chiller of the same title that will mark Ferrigno’s first role playing a creature since CBS TV series “The Incredible Hulk.”

Shooting is set to start in August in Syracuse, N.Y., on the horror film with an undercurrent of fun and quirky irony that will see Ferrigno making and selling jerky made of human flesh.

“Most people are surprised that I’ve never really entered the horror space before now,” Ferrigno said in a statement for Variety. “When I was a kid I was fascinated with the monsters of the time like Dracula and Frankenstein.

“So I am really excited and honored to be working with such a great team on something that will for sure excite fans. The character I am playing is...

Image
The new fantasy/thriller Tyger Tyger, starring Dylan Sprouse, which Gravitas Ventures is releasing in select theaters, drive-ins, digital/VOD on February 26, 2021. Here’s the trailer:

Tyger Tyger is a stylized indie drama also with Eden Brolin (daughter of Josh Brolin), and a bunch of talented young actors

Kerry Mondragon’s fantasy-thriller Tyger Tyger follows a woman named Blake (Sam Quartin), who while waiting for her test results during a pandemic, robs a pharmacy for life-saving medication, ditches her insolent boyfriend (Max Madsen), and makes a deal with a drug addict named Luke (Dylan Sprouse), to help distribute the stolen medication in the fringe lands. During the life-or-death adventure, they are chased through the labyrinth of the lawless city by its self-appointed gatekeepers Tammie (Eden Brolin) and Uncle Joe (Craig Stark). Dylan was also recently just cast in (and is now shooting) Mindy Kaling’s HBO Max Comedy ‘The Sex...

Official Trailer for Stylish, Vibrant Fantasy Drug Thriller 'Tyger Tyger'
Alma Martinez, Dylan Sprouse, Craig Stark, Thea Sofie Loch Næss, Eden Brolin, Max Madsen, Sam Quartin, Barbara Palvin, Nekhebet Kum Juch, Lexie Kaplan, and Allie Kaplan in Tyger Tyger (2019)
"I will find a way, I will figure it out, I will help you - I promise!" Gravitas has released the official trailer for the indie drama Tyger Tyger, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Kerry Mondragon. This is described as a "pandemic fantasy-thriller" and/or "stylized indie drama". A selfless woman and her mute friend kidnap a drug addict after robbing a pharmacy then hit the road to distribute the "life saving" medication, but find themselves trapped in the fringe lands of a law-less psychedelic city in a life-or-death adventure. Sounds crazy! Love the poster art, but that's about it. Tyger Tyger stars Dylan Sprouse, Sam Quartin, Eden Brolin, Craig Stark, Max Madsen, and Barbara Palvin. This looks rather trippy and vibrant, not necessarily in a good way, but maybe there's something interesting going on here. Have a look. Here's the official US trailer (+ poster) for Kerry Mondragon's Tyger Tyger,...

Dylan Sprouse Pandemic Thriller ‘Tyger Tyger’ Lands Distributor, Sets Release Date (Exclusive)
Image
“Tyger Tyger,” a thriller starring Dylan Sprouse that’s set during a deadly pandemic, has secured a distributor. Gravitas Ventures nabbed worldwide rights to the film and plans to release it in select theaters and drive-ins, as well as on digital platforms, on Feb. 26.

Kerry Mondragon wrote and directed the movie, which was presciently filmed before the coronavirus crisis gripped the world. It follows a frustrated woman named Blake (Sam Quartin), who robs a pharmacy for life-saving medication while awaiting her test results during a pandemic. She ditches her loser boyfriend (Max Madsen) and makes a deal with a drug addict named Luke (Sprouse) to help distribute the stolen meds to those who need it.

“‘Tyger Tyger’ is a personal and magical story about love and drug addiction in the midst of a pandemic,” Mondragon said. “Though we shot this story before the events of 2020, we know both the timeliness...

Beanie Feldstein and Kaitlyn Dever in Booksmart (2019)
How a Bart Simpson T-Shirt Delayed Dylan Sprouse’s Movie ‘Banana Split’
Beanie Feldstein and Kaitlyn Dever in Booksmart (2019)
Long before the release of “Booksmart,” actress Hannah Marks set out to make a movie that would be the female bookend to “Superbad.” She started writing the script eight years ago, at 18, based on a real-life story about how, in high school, she befriended the girlfriend of her ex-boyfriend.

Many drafts followed for “Banana Split.” Over time, Marks partnered with a co-writer (Joey Power), found a director (in the form of longtime cinematographer Benjamin Kasulke) and played a version of her former self onscreen who falls in love with her classmate Nick (Dylan Sprouse). They shot the movie in the winter of 2018 in Syracuse, N.Y. Later that year, “Banana Split” was enthusiastically received on the film festival circuit. Then, came one of the weirdest delays in the history of romantic comedies.

The producers realized that they didn’t have the rights to an article of clothing that Marks’ character April wears throughout the film.
