Huang Fei Hong: Nan bei ying xiong

I thought, after decades had passed, Hongkong flicks would be smarter or a bit more realistic. Naah, I guess only in my dream. By the *very first* 5 minutes, they have already done the same stupid cliche exactly as they did 30 years ago (magical soldiers pop up from nowhere by instant, doing nothing, which turned out, beside supermagical ability to instantly exists, those magical soldiers are useless in everything else). As conservative as I am, this stagnancy in movie's plot and story's logic is disheartening, no character development is expected but still using blatant stereotypical and overacting figurants today is inexcusable.

Xu Ke's Wong Feihong movies used to be art. This movie is commercial trash. Ruining Wong Feihong for the current generation. As much as I hate Yip Man movies, and in particular Plasitc Donnie Yen, they are better than this. If you like martial arts movies don't bother with this one.

They make these stories too many times ,but goes worse! Nothing to see from this . Poor directing , acting , fighting. Make me try to think what matial art movies make me feel excited?

So bad, poor storyline , bad actors except Zhao Wenchuo, and dull fighting scene. Definitely the 90's versions is better. Once upon a time in China

Once again Vincent Zhao is back to play one of the most famous Chinese characters ! The movie reminds me of Once Upon A Time Hero In China a lot, sure the Jet Li classics are better, but The Unity of Heroes is a good kung-fu flick that deserves a try as well. Personally I enjoyed it and I don't mind seeing sequels for it.
