Started watching this several months ago. Sad to see others comparing it to other game shows. It is fun to watch. Especially to see how into winning the guest stars are. The show flies by. Everyone involved, including me, is having such a good time. I sit and call out the perfect match for a word. They must hear me, because so often they agree. Give this shows a chance. Tune in and enjoy.
The round where they build the answer board is too important to the outcome and should be controlled by a contestant, not a celebrity. Both in terms of points possible and quality of clues, this round really pretty much determines which team wins. Have one contestant run that for each team and then the winning team has the other contestant giving clues in the money round. Otherwise I like the 2 celeb setup better than the 4. Just that one thing doesn't give the contestants enough control over the outcome and they are the ones with the most to gain/lose. I know a lot of people want more celeb screen time for entertainment purposes but it's not right that the people who have their winnings on the line should have so little control over whether they get the chance for the money round. I find it just as entertaining either way really- I could enjoy it with no celebs.
Consistency needs to be established for prize quality from one episode to the next.
Also they need to be more consistent with the rules- the judging on what is or isn't allowed is very inconsistent, both on similar words and also facial gestures. Maybe have more specific rules, like I don't know if two words have the same root word or have 3 or more letters in the same position- but just whatever the rules they need to be more consistent.
Same thing for Meredith commenting during play, like saying "only 3 words left" or warning that the time is almost up... either have her do that stuff on everyone or nobody. It might help some or others might find that it is worse because it increases the pressure, but the fact she does it sometimes but not on others, or sometimes reminding some at the beginning of a round to pay attention to time or anything else that could be construed as her giving help, as the host, needs to be very consistent, so if she can't remember to do it every time then she needs to stop altogether.
Fairness, fairness, fairness!!!

So unfair when the celebrities blow it. It's usually a new celebrity's first time and they just blow it. I think they should have to practice till they can do it in a timely manner. Ruins a lot of good players games, by overextending themselves by picking words they have no idea how to give clues to or being so unaware of the time they are wasting just stumbling around. It's really annoying when you watch them lose the game for the players by their ineptness. Need to be more rigorous screening the celebrities it's not about them it's about the contestants. They take chances and don't deliver the goods. Two days in a row this celeb makes contestants lose. Needs to be removed.
I really enjoy this show, and the current format is better than original, but the celebrities have too great a role in determining whether or not their team wins. Repeatedly during the show, contestants are reminded that the outcome of the game is really determined by the round in which their team celebrity constructs an answer board and gives the clues for it. Celebrities determine who wins or loses by the answer boards they create in that final competitive round. It sometimes seems like they aren't really playing to get their team to win. 2 teams of 3 contestants would allow contestants to win or lose based on THEIR choices in that round, instead of letting the celebrities run things. I can't help but think that some losing teams go home believing they would have won if they could have had the power to make the answer board and give the clues themselves. I would watch (even prefer) the show without the celebrities. However, if celebrities and their banter seem essential to the show, then at least let the contestants choose who is to make that answer board and lead that final round. One of the contestants OR the celebrity would play based on the contestants' choice. Then, win or lose, it was their choice.
To add to my previous review, I just discovered that the trips they give DO NOT include transportation! Unbelievable...
We do love this game show, but it is disappointing and almost embarrassing to see the laughably cheap consolation prizes they award to the super fan and the losing contestants. A copy of their home game?? $250 worth of Avon skin care products? A gift certificate for Buttercloth??? Good lord, how cheap can they be? Contestants and the Super Fan deserve so much more.
We also watch $100,000 Pyramid and it is astonishing how much money the contestants can make. The $10,000 grand prize in 25 Words Or Less pales in comparison.
Oh, and what's up with the fake audience sounds?? Can they not afford a theater with a live audience?
