Sorry are set to return with a new album, Cosplay, out on November 7th via Domino. To go along with the announcement, they’ve shared a new single, “Echoes,” and mapped out a 2025 North American tour.

Cosplay marks Sorry’s third studio effort and the band’s first full-length since 2022’s Anywhere But Here. The project is described as “a dizzying whirlwind of ideas, disguises and subterfuge distilled into the most thrilling and heartfelt album of their career.”

The band’s North American run kicks off December 3rd in Washington, DC, stopping in cities such as New York, Toronto, Chicago, and Portland before wrapping up in Los Angeles on December 20th. Kodansha Ltd., the Japanese publisher behind Attack on Titan and Vinland Saga, revealed on July 15, 2025, that they will be releasing a special U.S. edition of its Young Magazine.

The launch, which celebrates the 45th anniversary of the magazine’s Japanese debut, will introduce 19 new manga series specifically for American audiences.

Included in the 19 debut series are new works from established creators such as Shuzo Oshimi, known for The Flowers of Evil; Masaaki Nakayama, author of Ptsd Radio; and Shuichi Shigeno of Initial D fame. The release will also feature Under Ninja by Kengo Hanazawa, a manga currently serialized in the Japanese version of Young Magazine.

The special U.S. edition volume will contain over 1,044 pages. It follows the concept of “unfiltered manga”, portraying “the raw, unfiltered realities of ordinary human beings in extraordinary situations.” The magazine will feature science fiction, dark horror, and cyberpunk stories for an adult readership.

The Black Phone filmmaker Scott Derrickson has teamed up with his wife, filmmaker Maggie Levin, to tackle an adaptation of the horror novel Ghost Eaters.

Screen Gems, which has a first-look with Derrickson’s Crooked Highway banner, is behind the project and has picked up the rights to the bestseller written by Clay McLeod Chapman.

Levin will write and direct the adaptation. Derrickson, C. Robert Cargill and Vince Cheng will develop and produce via Crooked Highway. The project is in early development.

Chapman’s novel has been described as a terrifying supernatural descent into the depths of grief and addiction. It follows a group of friends who discover a drug called Ghost, which allows them to see the dead. But Ghost has unfathomable side effects, and as the book jacket says, once you take it, you can never go back.

The book scored many accolades when it was published three years ago.

The pilot for the upcoming Prison Break reboot is set to kick off production next week, but they’ve landed some major guest stars to fill out the cast. Drum roll, please. Margo Martindale (Justified), Ray McKinnon (Deadwood), Lili Taylor (The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping), Donal Logue (Duster), and Sylvester Powell (All American: Homecoming) will all guest star in the Prison Break reboot pilot.

They will join previously announced cast members Emily Browning (American Gods), Lukas Gage (Road House), Drake Rodger (Landman), Clayton Cardenas (Mayor of Kingstown), Jr Bourne (Teenwolf), Georgie Flores (Into The Dark), Myles Bullock (Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist), and Priscilla Delgado (A League of Their Own).

Exclusive: DC/Dox, the prestigious documentary film festival in the nation’s capital, today announced the full slate for its third edition.

The cinematic event will include a dozen world premieres including The Last Class, a documentary about former Secretary of Labor – and ardent Trump opponent – Robert Reich; the sex trafficking documentary The Right Track, directed by Shareen Anderson; A Savage Art: The Life & Cartoons Of Pat Oliphant, a film about the famed political cartoonist directed by Bill Banowsky, and Immutable, a feature on the Washington Urban Debate League directed by Charlie Sadoff and Gabriel London.

2023 was a dark year for the film industry. Beyond the writers' and actors' strikes, there was the continuation of the disturbing trend by studios and streamers to shelve or sell already completed projects, upsetting fans and all the creative talent behind those titles. The shelving of Batgirl was the first jaw-dropper back in 2022. In 2023, Warner Bros. Discovery added Coyote vs. Acme to that list, as did Netflix with the cancelation of The Inheritance and House/Wife, two completed films with a lot of promise. While it's often said that Netflix has a habit of canceling TV shows with dedicated fan bases, they don't often cancel completely filmed and produced titles, so the news was a bit shocking and discouraging. One year later, though, The Inheritance quietly made its debut elsewhere — on Hulu.

The cast of the Prison Break reboot continues to grow, and Deadline reports that Clayton Cardenas (Mayor of Kingstown), Jr Bourne (Teenwolf), Georgie Flores (Into The Dark), and Myles Bullock (Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist) have joined as series regulars.

Cardenas and Bourne were both main cast members on Mayans M.C., so this will be something of a reunion as the Prison Break reboot pilot is being written and executive-produced by Mayans M.C. co-creator Elgin James. Cardenas will play Ghost, a “ruthlessly dangerous inmate at one of the deadliest prisons in America.” Bourne will play Junior, a “mentally unstable lone survivor of a decades-old prison break that devasted the town.” Bullock will play Darius ‘Red’ Lewis, an inmate. Flores will play Andrea, a “female cadet training to be a Corrections Officer.“

Big casting news has been revealed for the upcoming Prison Break reboot series in the works at Hulu. New names have been attached to the cast, and they'll come with a reunion for two stars of Mayans M.C., the Sons of Anarchy spinoff.

Per Deadline, the pilot that's in development for the reboot has cast Mayans M.C. actors Clayton Cardenas (Mayor of Kingstown) and Jr Bourne (Teen Wolf). Other new additions include Georgie Flores (Into the Dark) and Myles Bullock (Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist). All four actors are playing series regular roles, and they follow the previous castings of lead stars Emily Browning, Lukas Gage, and Drake Rodger.

Exclusive: Hulu and 20th Television‘s Prison Break pilot has cast Clayton Cardenas, Jr Bourne, Georgie Flores and Myles Bullock as series regulars.

The project reunites Cardenas and Bourne with Mayans M.C. co-creator Elgin James, who is leading the efforts on the Prison Break pilot as writer and executive producer. Bourne also starred in James’ feature debut in the indie drama Little Birds (2011).

The Stay in LA campaign, a call to keep more production in the city, has hit 20,000 signatures with high-profile stars including Andy Garcia and Marisa Tomei joining the call alongside filmmakers including Jonathan Nolan and Paul Feig.

This comes after a week of awards season events where the likes of Hacks co-creator Paul W. Downs and DGA President Lesli Linka Glatter stumped for the campaign at high-profile shindigs.

As Hacks, which shoots in locations including Altadena, won best comedy series at the Critics Choice Awards, Downs said that “we need to ask to shoot our shows in LA” and the “people in the room have the power to make it happen”, while Linka Glatter, who lost her home in the wildfires, urged directors to “insist that your projects are shot where they are set”.

January proved to be a busy, varied month on Horror Queers. We kicked off 2025 with a look at Sophia Takal’s examination of toxic friendships in Into the Dark: “New Year, New You” (listen), tackled Quentin Tarantino’s half of the Grindhouse double feature with Death Proof (listen), revisited George Waggner’s 1941 classic The Wolf Man (listen), then begged for Aylmer’s juice in Frank Henenlotter’s Brain Damage (listen).

To wrap up January, we’re taking Carrie White to prom in Brian De Palma‘s adaptation of Stephen King‘s debut novel, Carrie. The classic film about telekinesis follows timid, bullied Carrie (Sissy Spacek) struggling to fit in at high school and get out from under the thumb of her overbearing religious mother (Piper Laurie).

Unexpected kindness arrives courtesy of popular girl Sue Snell (Amy Irving), who volunteers her boyfriend Tommy (William Katt) to take Carrie to prom.

Exclusive: Aurora Perrineau (Prodigal Son) has been tapped for an undisclosed role in Angels in the Asylum, an upcoming indie drama marking the feature debut of writer-director Rob Sorrenti.

Perrineau joins an ensemble which also includes Katherine Waterston, Simon Pegg, Minnie Driver, Cush Jumbo, Rose Williams and Miriam Margolyes, as previously announced.

Inspired by a BBC Newsnight exposé, the film tells the untold story of 50 women who were forcibly confined in isolation at Surrey’s Long Grove Asylum. Beginning in 1907, these women — deemed typhoid carriers — were imprisoned in the former psychiatric hospital, their lives shaped by fear, stigma, and medical injustice. Pic explores their struggle for freedom and dignity in the face of a system that saw them as threats rather than individuals, shedding light on a dark chapter in medical history.

Heather Greenwood, Marie-Elena Dyche and Charlotte Carey are producing the pic, currently shooting in the UK, with Parkland Pictures handling sales.

Five days after launching the campaign – designed to encourage more production to return to the city following the devastating wildfires – the group now has over 15,000 signatures to its petition.

After spending December revisiting Joel Schumacher’s 2004 version of The Phantom of the Opera (listen), Bette Davis’ Hush…Hush, Sweet Charlotte (listen) and Damien Leone’s Terrifier 3 (listen), Trace and I rang in 2025 with a look back at Sophia Takal‘s Into The Dark entry, New Year, New You (2018), co-written with Adam Gaines.

In the Hulu film, Alexis (Suki Waterhouse) joins friends Kayla (Kirby Howell-Baptiste), Chloe (Melissa Bergland) and social media influencer Danielle (Carly Chaikin) to ring in the new year.

But Alexis has ulterior motives for attending this year’s festivities. She blames Danielle for her facial disfigurement, resents her for her fame, and has a devious plan to exact revenge. The party quickly turns into a hostage situation with Kayla and Chloe forced to pick sides as the other two work out their issues in an escalating series of verbal and physical spats.

Well, it's that time of year again: Happy New Year from everyone at Collider! As 2025 begins, audiences are probably hearing the usual sentiments that come with each January 1st: "This is going to be my year," "I'm going to be my most authentic self," and, of course, "New Year, New Me!" Yet, while so many of these idioms present as a positive affirmation, there's an underlying toxicity to many of these phrases, a subliminal shaming that Sophia Takal's segment for the Hulu horror anthology series, Into the Dark titled "New Year, New You" brings to the forefront.

This December, Trace and I have checked out under seen 2019 gem I See You (listen), Joel Schumacher’s 2004 version of The Phantom of the Opera (listen), and the Bette Davis psycho biddie sequel, Hush…Hush, Sweet Charlotte (listen). For Christmas, we’ve gone contemporary with a look at Bloody‘s own Terrifier 3, directed by Damien Leone.

In the film, Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) and disfigured associate Vicky (Samantha Scaffidi) hibernate for five years as Final Girl Sienna (Lauren Lavera) struggles with her Ptsd. While brother Jonathan (Elliott Fullam) dodges her invitation to spend family time with their aunt Jess (Margaret Anne Florence) and uncle Greg (Bryce Johnson), the killer clown reawakens, ready to celebrate the holiday season by slaying anyone who gets in his way, including Santa, passengers on public transit, and even children at the mall!

The co-creator and star of a Blumhouse found footage franchise explains why they made the jump from Netflix to Shudder. Although it's primarily known for its movie offerings, which run the gamut from Happy Death Day to Get Out, Blumhouse has had several television series with varying levels of success. Some of their more notable projects in recent years include the horror anthology Into the Dark and Prime Video's The Horror of Dolores Roach.

The production company made its mark, however, with the 2009 found footage horror Paranormal Activity. Directed by Oren Peli, and continuing in the form of several sequels, Paranormal Activity helped to propel found footage horrors as a way of telling familiar stories through a fresh lens and subverting expectations. Another mini-franchise, which has made the jump to television, would follow a few years later.

While Lucy's accidental time travel alone does not trigger a new timeline, she makes several decisions in the past that ultimately alter the future.

As the movie progresses, and the identity of the Sweetly Slasher killer is revealed, it becomes evident that many distinct timelines are at play. Time Cut may have poor ratings and a familiar premise, but that hasn't stopped the movie from reaching the streaming service's number one spot. Starring Madison Bailey (Outer Banks) and Antonia Gentry (Ginny & Georgia), Netflix's new sci-fi horror movie has raked in over 22 million views since releasing on Oct. 30, despite a low Rotten Tomatoes audience score of 33%, and an even lower 26% critics' score.

Exclusive: Ahead of the release of his Paramount holiday comedy Dear Santa, starring Jack Black, Bobby Farrelly has found his next project in Sporkinfeesten, a “finding your roots” style family vacation comedy loosely inspired by true events, which has landed at Amazon MGM Studios.

Farrelly will work from a hot spec by Aaron and Will Eisenberg, which the studio recently acquired, with Cobra Kai‘s Counterbalance Entertainment producing. Further plot details are under wraps.

Although Landon directed Freaky, he did not Time Cut. Instead, Hannah MacPherson, director of Sickhouse and the Into the Dark film Pure, took the helm. Kennedy wrote the initial script with Crazy Ex-Girlfriend story editor Sono Patel, then MacPherson got involved in the writing process as well. The Acolyte has brought many interesting new characters into the Star Wars galaxy. Mae and Osha's relationship drives the entire story and provides a new take on the idea that there are two analogous characters who, by all means, should agree, but find themselves on opposite sides of the same conflict. Sol is the epitome of what a Jedi should be, but recent events suggest that there may be something darker lurking beneath the surface. Jecki and Yord provide much-needed comedic relief.

However, some of the most compelling figures are the Jedi that Mae is tasked with killing, and the most beloved of those (other than Sol) is by far Kelnacca. Wookiee Jedi are particularly rare, so to see one brought to life in live-action like this is simply a treat.
