Lefty Lucy follows a rideshare driver by the name of Lucy as she ventures out into the night picking up the strangest of the strange. Some of them are deadly and some of them are just plain strange. You never know who or what might hop into the backseat of the car.

The idea behind this movie is fairly solid. Rideshare companies have been popping up everywhere for years making many people taxi drivers in their own right. This material is ripe for exploration. Lefty Lucy kind of does that. You have an endless parade of people and none of them are normal people in the strictest sense of the word. Why would they be? This is night time in Tampa. Weird is as weird does I'm afraid.

It might be a little bit too much. You're hoping that you might learn more about Lucy than just the basics. You don't really. You know that she likes music. She's just as perplexed by these people as the audience is. She seems to live a fairly fulfilling life. She seems to have friends and has a passion for something but you can tell something is missing. The movie does have a difficult time articulating this but if you look deeply enough, you'll see it.

It has some interesting moments. As someone I'm sure has mentioned before, it is an episodic film by nature. But the segments are so quick and leave such little lasting residue left even with the crime of murder. Nothing seems to affect Lucy much and that makes things fairly dull in some aspects.

The acting is pretty decent in some areas. Most of the actors aren't given much time to develop their characters. But that's fine. Their entire point for existing is to come into Lucy's life and affect her. Some do in a large way but most don't. I think this might be a commentary of how you have to be when you're working as a rideshare driver.

I think this is a good start. I see more things from this particular writer/director expanding on what was attempted here. There is that potential. I didn't much care for this movie. It felt entirely too long for me. It was one situation after the other and if they weren't going to open up things with the character of Lucy, why are we going on this ride? The passengers at times became entirely cartoonish to the point of idiocy. That might have been the case but it could have benefitted from toning it down a bit. I still say check it out. You might have a different opinion than me. The movie is available to watch for free on Youtube. I will include a link to the movie in the comments section. I give this movie a D.

"Left Lucy", directed by M.C. Nowell, Kelly Helen Thompson. Lucy is a Uber driver and we're out with her on her overnight shift. What doesn't happen is easier to say, then what doesn't. The characters she comes across are enough for a dozen movies. The movie never bores or has you looking to fast forward. Lucy played by Kelly Helen Thompson lives a very sexual life in between driving and that just add spice to this all ready spicy mix of characters. From crazy priests, to poop making sex addicts in her back seats. Abusing boyfriends, drug transactions gone bad, pregnancy's, weird couples hitting on her, holy s*** this was filmed in Tampa and every freaking weird character is displayed here. Oh did I mention the fanatic road kill lover almost making love to a sack of roadkill! Yeah it's that bizarre, but also very interesting and well cast. A who's who of Florida Indy stars lend there talent here in hysterical sometimes terrifying and just crazy scenarios. Chris Woods, Cayt Feinics, Krystal Pixie Adams, Eric Danger Dionne, Dustin Hubbard and the ever popular Bob Glazier to name a few! I like quirky Original Indy flicks. This is a genuine original concept done rite. The lead Lucy is a very open minded clever women. She not only stars but also wrote and directed. I feel this is a very ballsy part and she knocked the performance out of the park. The part was a little raunchy but showed she was a strong women and did not put up with anything. The dialogue and camera work is fun an clever. I really had fun listening to the characters interact with each other and Lucy and how the camera captures her reactions to what unfolds in front of her. Yeah nothing like a long crazy night of picking up people for a living, is it really like this is Tampa! I think a sequel should be made in NY. Lucy should do the US! I recommend it highly to a real Indy lovers of a hint of bizarre and true cinema. Great job to all involved for pulling this off and making a very watchable and enjoyable flick. After watching this film I fell in love with Kelly Helen Thompson.

From what I gather she passed away shortly after this film which is really sad because this film was a work of art and showcased her best features in it.

After watching this film I dedicated my life to being an Uber driving and sleeping with as many people as possible. Everytime I find a new partner more interesting I move on like Lucy did.

The way she takes charge and dominates the men in her life showcased how a strong, sexual woman should be instead of the water-downed, mainstream, safe material forced up your rump by Amy Shumer and other females trying to act like 'one of the guys' or expressing their own 'locker room' talk.

Give me a break. Lucy bucks the troupes of fake women in movies.
