Most of the fans would expect this to be a full on action drama or involving military or police due to the name "Dear Comrade". It's not.

The movie is not your routine Telugu movie. Music and songs are superb. The movie lags a little bit. Editor could have done a better job. Could have been cut short by 20 minutes.

However, movie makes up for the lag in the climax and last 30 minutes of the movie. It gives a strong message and shows the problems faced by women.

Over all, it's a decent watch. Just don't go expecting something like Arjun Reddy.

All the actors have justified their roles perfectly. Music is awesome. I believe the movie will definitely become a hit in Tamil and Malayalam as they love reality based movies. Not so sure about the fate of the film in Telugu.

Story didn't need the duration of the drama by the makers of dear comrade.overall good movie but it is very lengthy...

*A calm musical journey of "The Comrade" in form of vijay deverkonda , but my goodness Rashmika is a real beauty. * This movie is very good in those parts where vijay and rashmika are together... Else story could have been made more tighter by atleast reducing its duration which was almost 3 hours... yet I enjoyed the movie * Songs are too calm and soothing *An appreciated step , u can watch it at least once😁 *7.5/10 (my rating)

Narration of the heart touching struggle is a visual treat elevated with the beautiful background score invoking a sense of responsibility in the walking dead like us who forgot to fight for the right cause and the strength a comrade gives. My respects to the crew for making a thought provoking and an entertaining film as well.

The trend of multilingual movie release was created by KGF last year. Dear Comrade too emulated this formula and after a long time Kannadigas were happy that the Kannada dubbed version was releasing along with other languages. However the main purpose of dubbing into Kannada which is to reach out to the people who don't understand telugu has not been fulfilled. The reason being less than 4% of screens across Karnataka for the Kannada version. The KFI anti-dubbing lobby and the distributors have made a mockery of Kannadigas in the name of dubbing by giving 97% of the screens for the telugu version in the Kannada heartland thus imposing telugu on Kannadigas! A sad reality indeed!

The movie is all about a bad-tempered guy who falls for a girl who is a state-level cricketer. The movie has a slow screenplay and most of the plot revolves around the ups and downs in their love story. The film uses the same old tried & tested narrative and feels like old wine in a new bottle except that there's a social message which the film tries to giveaway in the end.

There are quite a barrage of fight scenes which can irritate you with the unstable camera movements where the hero can be seen fighting off his rivals over trivial issues. The majority of the first half comprises of these fights & shows his anger management issues. The film drags a lot at many places and feels just too long.

The cinematography is delightful and the colourful wedding and rainy scenes are shown wonderfully. The music is also excellent and the soothing track "Kadalanthe Kaada Kannu" will haunt you even after you leave the theatre!

Vijay Deverakonda has replicated his role from his previous movies as a person with anger issues. His dialogues don't feel so effective, which might be due to the dubbing quality. Rashmika Mandanna's performance is a disappointment. Her acting in the cheerful segments is good but she fails badly in places where strong display of emotions are required.

Overall the film has the elements of a family entertainer along with a good social message. The dubbing in Kannada is satisfactory and is a win for Kannada pro-dubbing activists. The Kannada fonts used in the building names & KA registered vehicles is also good to see in the film. However the lip syncing mismatch and the duration of the film is a downer. It won't disappoint you for a one time watch.

It is one of the good movies in Telugu cinema recent times. Wonderful movie... must watch....

Typical leadership qualities in Hero is shown with the group. Then a wonderful chemistry between Vijay Deverkonda and Rashmika Mandan is on screen. Here Rashmika is teasing VD!!!

Her elder sister was liked by VD and the crush failed to process further but RM takes all possible advantage and when they are alone stops advancing physically VD saying "You have given me memorable treat Pl do not spoil" hero let's her go for Cricketing career.

Later realizes his love and RM has left Cricket as near victim for casting couch and family also taking no support to her .. This puts her in depression for which now the Hero is fighting hard like Comrade.... Melodrama talks, scenes, commeettee investigations... But in doing so story telling grip is lost and is over done.

Still VD:RM Chemistry very much impressive.

I felt that this film story is different in recent films. It was a very good time to watch this film. I love the concept.

You may lack a bit but there's something in the plot . I've seen the dubbed version (Malayalam) so the dialogues are not intense.

A beautiful story telling experience with a lots of amazing tracks and relation of our real life, that is what really this movie offers. It's very hard to work out these kind of movies in BO , but this movie will always find a space in Everyone's heart. Vijay Devarakonda and Rashmika Done Their job splendidly.

Arjun Reddy 2.0 with the same zero anger management but in love with a different girl ! Nothing new from VD . Looks like he is only suitable to these kind of roles !

Went to watch the movie first day first show but ended up in a great dissapointment. The film deals with many topics such as friendship, love, breakup, deppression, family, politics, other socially relevent topics but in the end nothing strikes to the point. Running time of the movie is about 2.45hr, which makes it more uncomfortable and less gripping. Acting of the heroine was poor. Postive side of the film are Vijay Devarakonda's acting, music, songs.

If you go and watch the movie with less expe tation you might like the movie.

"Dear Comrade" is a beautiful movie name with a beautiful meaning

Any movie is top grade when you can watch it again and again..... and i have seen this movie till One Hour Twelve Minutes and Twenty five Seconds (1:12:25) again and again.... and the Tragedy part starts from there.

The formula for majority of the Indian movies to become successful is: to make it "Entertaining" but not Tragedy, Sentiments and Frustration Scenes....

Director did a Wonderful Job, Acting is very good, Music and Songs are Fantastic....

7* Stars to this one....

As a person in society, this movie thus strike us to think and mould ourselves. movie hits the core to the extent and conveys storytelling isn't just about actor but how he supports an actress to face herself. do watch if you are struggling to find if feminism is really needed in this era.

Most Importantly: A Mans strength is defined by the smile on his women's face.

It appears the first thing they decided about this movie, was its name. Angry hot tempered protagonist, activist, weird encounter with actress leading to love (the only good part), bits of comedy here and there, fights of course and finally the climax to justify the name. Still, I guess one might like it, if they like the lead couple.

Great movie and Awesome experience.....need to watch must

How a man spoil her career when he fall in love with someone

Vijay is brilliant no words for this guy but Rashmika will impact you alot she has done it beautifully. Music is top notch! Very well written and directed. Just go and watch the film with your sister, mother, girlfriend, friend (especially female) and tell them i am your comrade before the movie starts, and thank me later!

The first half was ok but coming to the second the movie gone beyond limits. The acting of the lead pairs was excellent. The music is another highlight in love as well as action scene and also played major part in certain elevation scenes. And some scenes would have trimmed too.Ans finally a HEARTHITING MOVIE

Dear Comrade is an Indian romance surrounding a headstrong comrade (one who fights for a social-justice cause, not necessarily a communist), Bobby (Vijay Deverakonda), and his paradoxically independent/ dependent love, Lilly. With touches of Bollywood's optimism, exuberant singing, and dancing, this actioner at times also could remind about West Side Story, though it lacks anything close to the nuance and artistry of that classic.

As the principals finally get together and split again, more than once, the almost three hours is fortunate to have such comely, charming actors to offset the enduring repetitions of fate. While it seems Lilly is intended to be an exemplar of the new Indian woman (she is a state cricketer, after all), who is not rushing into marriage (no sane woman would hook up with this angry cutie except in the last reel, when he, of course, is a new caring, feminist man).

Although Dear Comrade has issues like freedom of speech and rape awareness, these important themes are secondary to gang rivalry and the lovers spending too much time swooning over each other. If you're a romantic, you might enjoy this drama; if you're a realist, forget it and see Yesterday or Bohemian Rhapsody instead.

It's basically a love story movie with medium pace. The storyline is fabulous, direction wise good but it can be improved audience easily understood the frame with VFX.

Dear combrade is just a mixture of stories of other movies.Why the director took such a movie, its only for promoting with these actors but the movie has nothing new.The movie worked because of chemistry between the actor and actress (which you can see in geetha govindam) and some good songs.

A love story involving an angry boy and a state level cricketer whose lives are totally different and they crosses their journey along with the issues of career and personal behaviour . Vijay shown as an angry boy, a leader of a group of student meets rashmika and the love story starts. The story turned out to be a bit complex with more than required issues accordingly. In fact the first part except the love story turned out to be irrelevant. Overall the love story has been revolving around getting their love back. Rashmika and vijay have done beautiful job to keep the story alive. One time watchable.
