The movie begins well and story looks quite interesting. The CGI is quite good. And actors are decent too. The concept of rich playboy harvesting and using Gabaroids as sports hunting is interesting. However, the director fails to develop the story. There is lack of good screenplay. The movie proceeds in jerky way. And it starts looking like director just wants to get rid of the characters as he has got too many of them and has no idea how to get them killed. So the sequences look very forced and silly. Still movie is quiet fast paced and watchable and provides good sequel for Tremors fans.

^ That pretty much sums up the entire movie. Entertaining and great escapist fun.

This is a four, but I'm adding a star for effort. If you watch it with the reasonable expectation of it being from the economy side, it's decently entertaining and goes to places where I didn't expect, comically exaggerated effects that's seem on purpose.

Tourists are hunting super Graboids on a tropical island led by arrogant leader Bill Davidson. Burt Gummer (Michael Gross) is now a retired beachcomber living off the grid. He's out, but Jimmy (Jon Heder) convinces him to get back in.

I like the location. It gives me Jurassic Park vibes with a dose of Survivor. The movie does not always use it correctly. It has moments of good horror, but mostly it looks cheap. The camp isn't much other than Gross. The only interesting character is Gummer. I had hoped for better from Heder, but he has not developed as an actor. The flamethrowers are fun and there are lots of explosions. In the end, this is only occasionally interesting.

This is by far the best in the newer sequels episodes of Tremors. Its obvious from the start that this is very different movie in tone and in production values than anything which appeared after the initial trilogy. This is a much more serious and darker film, gone is the comedic tone and in its place we get much better action sequences and a real air of menace. There definite and deliberate nods to the movie Predator, particularly in the action scenes. One in particular midway through the movie is simply the best action scene in any Tremors movie. The production values for this are probably the best in the franchise. We have stunning visuals as this is set in Thailand which gives the movie a kind of Jurassic Park prehistoric vibe but the cinematography is worth a mention. Probably a first for a Tremors movie. The cast are great and unexpectedly (to me any) Jon Heder shows up as does an English actress mainly known for TV shows who plays Berts ex love interest, Fans of the franchise will be more than happy with this edition although there is an obvious departure from the previous formula. This perhaps signals an end to either the saga or possibly a shift away to a new Tremors series of movies. I wouldn't complain if they did based on this episode. I gave this a 6 however as its still a Tremors movie and partly for the ending...

This sequel takes itself way too seriously. I love most of the previous versions because it was fun, humorous and a bit campy on purpose. This is a Jurassic Park wannabe.

About a year ago I took on the journey through all six of Tremors movies: some of them were fine (1,2,4), an ok one (3), and the other two were watchable (5,6) and as soon as I've learned that there is a seventh part already out there I naturally went out and got it. The new chapter of Burt Gummer's adventures is a lot better than the last two; different setting (the island), fantastic landscapes, great music and score and the one and only Michael Gross - the true soul of this franchise. What is also worth mentioning is that this part makes many references to previous movies making this one more conclusive and allows it to truly look like it is a part of the same universe as the first four movies were; besides that it also has a couple of nods to the great Predator starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, not ripping it off but treating it with respect, dignity and a little of self-irony of course too. Overall a good improvement over the sixth, very disappointing part, but still the same over-the-top silly horror comedy that I grew to like so much despite this. If there's an eighth part ever to surface the face of the internet - I'll be among the first ones to watch it hands down.

I love all of the Tremors films except for this one. For years I always got excited when a new Tremors film came out and I would watch it without hesitation. I didn't even need to see a trailer because you knew what to expect with these films. However this installment is not up to par with the previous films and I have no hesitation saying it is the weakest out of the films. The charm is missing, and I genuinely fell asleep halfway through out of boredom. I hope this truly is the last outing for Burt Gummer and they don't decide to bring him back because that would ruin it even more. The series has clearly run it's course which makes me sad but it's time to move on.

This series turned 'weekend at bernies' after the second one. The third installment killed it and they've just been parading the series' corpse around on a marionette ever since. Everything happens just as the script needs it to happen and the dialog just jacks itself off. Should of watched something else.

This movie is somewhere near the top, like Tremors 1&2. Is it a great movie overall? Meh, but in the Tremors franchise it's really good. Michael Gross has done a fantastic job keeping the franchise alive, and he does not disappoint. Jon Hader is a huge step up from Jamie Kennedy, in my opinion, acting wise.

Each Tremors movie has been better than the next one but this one has a higher quality. Addition of Jon Heder might keep the thing going. How about Graboids on the Moon?

It's so bad it's not even campy. Everything about it (production, acting, plot) is not even high school level. Whoever funded this thing probably thought it would be another Sharknado, but boy did they ever get conned.

Well, well, well... With this 2020 "Tremors: Shrieker Island" installment to the "Tremors" franchise, I must say that the series is definitely starting to get back on track after some less than overly interesting additions.

I found "Tremors: Shrieker Island" to be a rather enjoyable movie and a very nice addition to the franchise. Sort of a much needed addition to the franchise actually, to spice it up and make it great.

The storyline in "Tremors: Shrieker Island" is pretty straight forward, even for a "Tremors" movie. So you know what you are getting yourself into here, for better or worse. Well, at least that was the truth up to the surprise ending, which I hadn't foreseen. Of course I am not going to ruin anything here by spoiling the event, but it is something that you just have to watch if you have been enjoying one or more of the previous six "Tremor" movies.

The special effects in "Tremors: Shrieker Island" were good, and I really enjoy the way that the Graboids are look and have evolved. That is definitely some interesting thinking from writers Brian Brightly and Don Michael Paul. And again, that evolution just feels very natural to this particular franchise, as the Graboids have been evolving all the way throughout the series.

"Tremors: Shrieker Island" differs as in the movie plays out on a remote island that is set up to stage some specialized trophy hunting, like it or not. I found it to be an interesting spin on the story. And I definitely enjoyed how director Don Michael Paul managed to squeeze in a very distinct "Jurassic Park" and "Predator" feel to this 2020 "Tremors: Shrieker Island" movie. At one point I was actually convinced that they put in a predator, given the setting, the environment, the heat vision thermal sights and the sounds that they used.

As for the movie's cast ensemble, well it was - needless to say - a thriller to have Michael Gross return to reprise the role of the iconic Burt Gummer character. And I was especially thrilled to see Richard Brake in the movie, he was just perfectly cast for his role, and he delivered a rather good performance. Initially I was a bit skeptic of having Jon Heder in the movie, but he actually surprised me with his performance, as it was good and actually complimented Michael Gross's performance quite well, I had feared that he would fluke out like Jamie Kennedy did in the 2018 "Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell".

Visually then "Tremors: Shrieker Island" delivered, and if you are a fan of the franchise, then you will most definitely enjoy what you are presented with in this 2020 movie. It was just pure eye-candy for us fans of the franchise.

The ending of the movie, take it or leave it as you will, sort of have me conflicted. Was it a good way to end the movie? Personally I didn't really find that ending enjoyable, but I guess it had to come sooner or later. The big question is then, does it put a stop to the "Tremors" franchise in the future? I certainly hope not, because the movies, campy and cheesy as they may be, are actually wholesome entertaining.

My rating of "Tremors: Shrieker Island" is a six out of ten stars. This one is definitely a franchise fan pleaser and a step in the right direction for the franchise - in my opionion. "Tremors: Shrieker Island" is well worth the time, money and effort. So watch it.

So at the beginning the character runs through the rainforest and performs parkour on trees and rocks, why that ??? (but it doesn't matter either). The acting is desperate, in some parts the music literally overpowers the dialogue of the actors (so that's awful). At one point the shriekers are described as fast, reflexive, and dangerous and then defeated by an old man with a machete and an idiot with a chainsaw who gets entangled on his own legs. At one point the shrieker is shown to be large and at another point it is pined on a chaisaw where it is not much larger than the average chainsaw. The movie is almost unwatchable, absurd situations on every corner, I'm sorry but I watched with rewind and out of pure nostalgia for once good Tremors movies. Artistic freedom is one thing but this is absurd, you managed to destroy the legendary Tremors, bravo geniuses!

Like many reviewers, I've watched all the previous Tremors flicks and, to varying degrees, found the needle falling on the positive side of the entertainment meter. Not so for Shrieker Island. The movie itself seems to be a mash-up of previous Tremors, Jurassic Park, Predator, etc., complete with a hulk carrying a chain gun who shreds the forest. The premise of the creature in its various forms is old and worn out. The idea of thrill seekers deliberately putting themselves on an island where meeting a grizzly death is overwhelming pushes the bounds of idiocy. The story is predictable and the acting falls flat. As for the positive reviews, I surmise is fans of the franchise will settle for anything with the name "Tremors" attached; the trend is not reflected in the overall rating.

In a long line of low budget tremors sequels, this was actually not too bad. The acting was decent, good effects, and great grabboid action. RIP to the real one.

As much as I thought this was an awful, awful movie, it's nice to be reminded there's still a place for D-list actors to still find work. Honestly, almost everyone who watches this movie will do so out of boredom or out of loyalty to the cheesy franchise. The movie itself has all of the production quality of a made for soft tv movie. CG monsters, less than good acting, and a cheesy script that can almost guarantee eye rolls. If you're hoping for a good monster flick, you're outta luck. But if you've got nothing else going on in your life, why not?

I've loved the Tremors movies for a long time. They are by no means masterpieces and the newer movies never could hold a candle to the first few. I honestly didn't like the last one much at all. But this one is probably one of the best newer ones despite being quite different. It does lack the comedy some of the other movies had and I missed that. I often loved the old ones because they were funny and wild. But I still found there were plenty of things to love about this one. I also think the last movie really failed at being funny or... much of anything... so I think the darker turn they took for this one was a good change. It also fits the ending better. I really enjoyed the beautiful scenery and seeing the shriekers again! The nods to Jurassic Park and Predator were also fun and the change in weapons. It had some cool side characters that were very fun to watch get eaten too. And the plot was pretty much the same as every other movie but it works well enough. I never felt bored. On the other hand, the script is pretty eh and the characters aren't well fleshed out. But that's the case for pretty much all the new sequels. Like I said, they aren't masterpieces. Still, they're fun to watch. If you like the tremors movies, you should check this out.

I for one love the Tremors movies. This one didn't disappoint. My favorite character is Burt. So not sure what happened with him. Don't know if he decided to retire or they getting tired but it's not at all like the fast and the furious to me. I can't get tired of watching them. They have the action, the laughs, and enjoyment. I hope they don't kill off Burt. As for the movies themselves you can tell they think outside the box. It would be interesting to see what they would come up with next. They had the heat, the cold, they, did the ones that fly and walk. Maybe they should try the ones that if they bite you, you turn into it. That would be interesting to see how Burt would handle that. Much love and respect to you Burt. Thanks for giving me much laughs and enjoyment.

I have loved the tremors movies, but this one added nothing despite some good acting. Same tremors just a new location and less humor.

For those who have never seen Tremors, you do need to watch one of the first 2, especially the 2nd to really understand some of the jokes in the movie. There are references to later movies but watching them is not necessary to get this movie. The basic plot is evil giant people eating worms hunting a zany cast of people who's reactions are sometimes rather funny. This movie took itself a little too seriously. You'd be better off watching earlier Tremors movies. The first one came out in 1990 and became a cult classic.

Richard Brake and Cas Clare are the only real things that shine about this latest Tremors movie.

I've long enjoyed the Tremors series, which sadly have been relegated to direct-to-video since the first sequel. That said, despite low budgets, the sequels have always been fun creature-based action comedy suspense romps. Until this seventh edition. The fun has been largely sucked right out of Shrieker Island.

The first four films were created by writers of the originals S. S. Wilson and Brent Maddock and were pretty entertaining while in the hands of the people who were the series' creators. There was then a ten year break and then a new director and new writers were brought in for the 5th, 6th, and 7th installments. The 5th and 6th were co-written by John Whelpley, who was the last remaining connection to the originals as he was responsible for the teleplay of the 3rd Tremors. However, with Shrieker Island, Whelpley is gone and the lone creative connection to the original creators was completely severed. It shows.

Shrieker Island has no tension and no interesting situations for the characters to creatively get out of - something at least my memory tells me the other movies all had. It's just sloppy writing by people who don't seem to have much knowledge of the history of these movies, including how the monsters are supposed to behave. In more than one scene, Burt tells the characters to be quiet and then everyone proceeds to continue chatting and in some cases walking around, with no consequences.

The lack of suspense might be forgivable if the movie had the comedy elements of its predecessors, but alas, Jamie Kennedy is not onboard for this one. He and Michael Gross had great on-screen rapport in the 5th and 6th movies, but no one in this movie measures up.

I would have given it three stars out of ten just for having Burt as the lead again, and Gross gives it his best, but then at the end the titles unnecessarily give a "screw you" to all fans of Burt's anti-government attitude. Plus, Burt barely even gets one line to trash on bureaucracy early on, and that's it.

Bad guy "Bill" played by Richard Brake is a bright spot doesn't have much interesting to do with his character. There's a lady with a bow and arrow who looks a lot like a similar bow-wielding character from the 5th movie in Africa. I thought when she first showed up that they were foreshadowing that her skills with the bow would come in handy later, but nope, not at all.

I've seen them all, but except for the first two, I've only seen the rest of them once. However, I'd be willing to watch them all again, except this one.

Let's hope this is the end of the series, but if not, maybe with the last few movies globetrotting from Africa, to the Arctic, to tropical islands, the eighth movie will be Tremors In Space. Might as well go maximum stupid at this point.
