Cryptid

Acting was not that good, the story felt really far fetched, almost like a student project. Strange costumes and a really big monster that never is to be really seen, if you are into cryptids then skip this one. Cool thing was the synthwave background music. I can't imagine people giving this more than a 5* rating, must be cast or production members!

"Cryptid" get's the horror thriller formula right in a very accessible and watchable series, from Sweden.

This ten part series is well paced. It gets your attention with some pretty gruesome and spectacular horror from the outset and then tones things down, gradually revealing layers of horror and mystery, as it moves towards its watery climax.

Perhaps the only criticism I can find, is I did feel the climax could have offered a little more. That said, its made clear, that this is supposed to be a first season, with more to follow.

Beyond this smallish point this is a quality series. Acting is convincing, with excellent chemistry between the key protagonists, the mythology based premise is sound and horror/thriller elements come together satisfyingly.

Here's hoping for a second season.

Grt series better acting funny in lot parts little sad too-sure some people either dont realise its not real ie it tv series i hope s2 comes quick.

The good: It's easy to watch with 20 minute episodes. The story is Interesting and leaves the viewer wanting more after each episode.

The bad: The acting is horrible, Especially regarding ester and her mom the police officer. I can't decide if it's the manuscript that's just so bad that it's not even possible to act it out in a natural way or if they have just done a horrific job at casting. The only actors that seemed natural in there roles were the Irish twins, Tuva and the sister Lisa, the rest was just horrible. How it's possible for a whole production company to fail so horrendously with the script and the casting is beyond me. I can't even describe how frustrating it was to watch

I have no idea why this has such high reviews. I'm Swedish and this was atrocious to watch, the story, the characters, the dialouge, the choices the characters make are just mind boggling at best. This is not the actors fault of course but I feel bad for them that they had to act through this script.

I dont know why they chose to write such dislikable characters, it was fun to watch with someone else though but it was unfortunately not in a good sense. None of the characters you were hoping would die did and you get stuck with all the worst ones for a lot of the show. Could've been good but unfortunately not. If you want to roast a show as you watch and not have to focus on it, give it a go.
