Rebelles

Actually not really simple and not really a plan. Then again as many saying goes you can't plan things. And in this case a lost soul returns to her home town/city, meeting many old friends, but also a few new ones. But how friendly are the new friends? That is something for the viewer to find out.

The movie has quite some violent outbursts and it also has a few scenes, where you may wonder why the tension when it wasn't necessary. But it's a movie and it's here to entertain us. Really well acted and the tension keeps you on the edge of your seat even if you kind of can guess where it is going many times.

In a bling bling environment, a bunch of loosers collide and the simple plan because a complicated grim one... funny to watch and convincing head actors.

It's very funny and very special. It has its own way of story-telling, very unique, like nothing I' ve seen before. Really don't get the low raitings. It's very well acted, the dialogues are intriguing, the direction captivating. For what it is, this movie serves its purpose perfectly. Really looking forward for other movies of the same director.

An unusual trio composed of Sandra (a vulgar and snobby woman), Marilyn (a hysterical and delirious woman) and Nadine (a woman who >seems< to be nice and kind) crosses a pathetic fellow with a bag full of banknotes, and then a cop with unorthodox methods, a local mobster, the Belgian underworld, .... This whole town's going down the crapper!

Irregular movie with a few very good scenes.

Nothing too deep here, this is a fun romp with three more or less charming leading ladies who happen upon a stash of dirty money whereras all kinds of troubles and mayhem arise. In tone this is close to some Coen crime comedies, especially the fact that there are no super-minds at work anywhere, the three ladies as well as the gangsters make a lot of stupid decisions, which makes "Rebelles" a rather realistic movie in that respect. What keeps it from being an A movie is that the characters stay pretty flat throughout the proceedings, with the possible exception of Yolande Moreau's "Nadine"; you don't care much what happens to the other protagonists. But overall, very entertaining and fun!
