Using professional actors, Tavakoli finds a dynamic realism in how the soldiers project their real life experience to the fictional narrative and it's his skill as a visual and poetic filmmaker that enables viewer to form a powerful response to the grim material.

Watched this for third time and can't say enough how impressed I am, one of the best war movies I have ever seen, great story line, perfect visual effects, I recommend adding this to your watch list!

8 years war between Iran and Iraq from 1980. This film is just a short tragedy of the war that 2 countries faced and you fill it better if you lived on war time. Your eyes are full of tears when you leave the cinema hall and when you remember the oppressed and innocent soldiers. Pray for peace and no more war in the world.
