Lucy Worsley: Mozart's London Odyssey

I have a high regard for Lucy however, this showing was very disappointing.

The subject matter was interesting, and something I was looking forward to seeing, especially as I like Mozart however, it was a bit of a disaster.

First of all was the scene where she was apparently playing a keyboard. The "ssspecial effects" suggested that, she was just miming. I had to pause viewing, go online and search, and found out that she studied piano for at least 14 years. Not a good start.

Then there was a following scene whereby she handled a book. As a curator and "historian", I was surprised that, she did not wear white gloves, which is the standard method of protection.

Then she spoke with a gentleman by the name of Horst Rieschenbo****. I couldn't get the name because it was a signed programme I watched, and the signer was in the way of the complete surname spelling.

Then there was the supposed piece of music that Mozart played which he learned in under 30 minutes, and did not memorise.

The name Leopold was mentioned, who was he? It apparently happend at around 9.45pm, what 4 year old would be awake at that time? And, if it wasn't memorised, how did a 4 year old read music better than their own language?

No doubt, he was, is, and will always be remembered as a musical genius. Sadly, this showing by a woman I admire greatly, fell very far short; especially when all of the above, happened in the first 10 minutes of the show.

I will watch to the end however, what I hear from now on. Will be taken with a very small pinch of salt.
