This is a very thoughtfully done film about that which surrounds us but is simultaneously forbidden. It was just beautiful to take in. The clock is literally ticking throughout the film and only shown between segments, during what acts as both a pre/postamble and intermission.
The focus here is the people entirely. One will die while others live on. And just like life, the film continues on. If you haven't had an existential crisis yet, I highly recommend. If you've had a recent loved one die, that's your call.
You won't see anyone die here, only read about it on a Gantz-like black screen void of any concern. It's comforting in an odd way.
One of the main things Die Tomorrow does well, other than its use of the camera, is get me to care about the people who's personal life it takes a rather intimate lense to.

For Thamrongrattanarit's fifth feature Die Tomorrow, death itself becomes the ultimate signifier of ephemerality, as he takes six obituaries, and weaves around them six dramatisations of what immediately preceded or followed these deaths.

I was blown away by this film. It's simplistic still shots amplify the banal, familiar narrative of each life.
I highly recommend this deeply moving, poetic portrayal life and death in it's most raw and honest way. It's comforting, painful, familiar and aesthetic.
So so beautiful, thank you.

What a way to start the new year! This movie addresses a heavy topic subtly. Every scene we saw, every sound we heard, and every story we learned has been well woven.
I fell in love with the idea of taking the stories of death that were presented in newspapers and expanding them into surrounding stories. Interspersed with opinions from two ordinary people of vastly different ages. I love how we get to hear so many different angles and messy stories about death without pointing out what is right or wrong or anything like that.
So worth it. I've been waiting to watch it since 2017. Back in my high school days.
